DIY Autumn Room Decor!

Evening lovelies!

It’s me again .. How are you all!? Hope you have all been very well :). Cannot believe this week is coming to an end, as well as the month! It will be Halloween in a few days! I hope you all had a read of my Halloween cupcakes post, and got some inspiration :).

Update on how may week has been so far .. I have just been at work, and am starting to get used to the darker evenings (it is now getting dark at around half 4!). Today at work was pretty crazy, from about 1:30pm, we lost access to ALL our systems, meaning we could not get ANY work done (!!!!). This led to most of us having a clear out of our desks (something we never get the time to do!), and then leaving work early! Pretty crazy right?!

So.. moving on, I have been SO excited to blog about this, as it combines so many of my favourite thing .. DIY’s, Autumn, and room decor! Now I know there are already Christmas decorations out (?!), but we are still in Autumn for at least a good month, so why not create some DIY decor for your room to make it feel/look autumnal! These things are SO cheap, quick and easy to make, and the only things I had to actually “purchase” was glue and tealights :). The rest of the things I had lying around the house and garden (leaves, conkers and sticks ;P). I really hope you give these a go, and let me know how you get on!

Conker Candle Jar:

So… I actually had conkers from a few weeks back when we went to visit a country park. You can find these in a forest/park on the ground, but I am also sure you can pick fake ones up from craft shops/ebay! I also reused a candle jar, and used some ribbon that I had in my craft box.

Things you will need:

  • Empty candle jar
  • Conkers
  • Candle
  • Maroon Ribbon

The hardest part for creating this candle for me was actually getting the sticker off the candle! Firstly, if you have excess wax, put the jar in the freezer for an hour – this will cause the wax to shrink, and it will then fall out of the jar. Then, use nail varnish remover to remove any glue that is left over from taking off the sicker. Making the candle jar is pretty self explanatory really – you just fill the empty jar with conkers, place the candle in the middle, and wrap a ribbon round the top! So easy and simple!

SAM_2071 SAM_2055

How CUTE does it look though?! You can also use acorns or pine-cones too, if you can’t get your hands on conkers :).

Leaf Candle Jar

So, over the weekend, I actually picked LOTS of leaves and sticks. You can of course use fake leaves if you want. I placed all these leaves on my kitchen worktop with heavy books on top for a few days, so they could flatten and be easier to work with. This candle jar is also very easy to make, however you need to leave it overnight to dry, as we do use PVA glue.

Things you will need:

  • Leaves
  • Jars
  • PVA glue
  • Battery operated flickering candles

Cover the jar with PVA glue, and stick the leaves on there, covering the leaves in glue too. Make sure you use PLENTY of glue – don’t worry, it dries clear :). Leave to dry overnight, and that is all! I also finished it off with some ribbon wrapped around the top. I actually got this idea from Pinterest, and LOVED how it turned out. It is also easier to use the battery powered flickering candles in these jars :).

SAM_2138 SAM_2141 SAM_2145

I think it is such a stunning project, and really is worth trying :). I think the effect when it is dark looks gorgeous, and the pictures really do not give it justice!

Glittery Hanging Leaves

Things you will need:

  • PVA glue
  • Glitter
  • Leaves
  • Yarn

Cover your leaves in PVA glue, and sprinkle the glitter over them. Leave to dry overnight. Then, using a pin, make a hole in the top of the leaf, and thread some yarn through. These look so cute hanging on your wall or on your door/cupboard handles.

Wooden Candle Jar

Things you will need:

  • Sticks
  • Empty Nutella jar
  • Ribbon
  • Candles
  • Hot glue gun

Use a hot glue gun to glue individual sticks all around the jar. Hot glue guns are so much better because they dry so quick and are very strong :). Once you have stuck them all around, wrap a ribbon around it and place candles inside! I think this is such a unique and modern touch to a candle jar, and think it looks much more expensive that it actually was (I used an empty nutella jar and sticks guys .. you can’t get more cost effective than that!).

Garlands of Leaves:

Things you will need:

  • Leaves
  • Thread

Arrange your leaves in a order that you like, then using a needle and thread, thread the leaves together so they form a garland. SAM_2123

So there we have it guys…lots of little projects to work on to make your room look so Autumnal, using things in your home and garden!

SAM_2158  SAM_2166 SAM_2172

I love these items so much, they really make your room feel so cozy! I think I will keep these until 1st December, then switch over to Christmassy things! I LOVE DIY room decor so much, as you can make items exactly how you want them. I had SO many more ideas, like a crochet leaf garland, jumper candle jars, a leaf bowl…. but this post would have probably been up even later if I featured them!

Let me know what you think of this post, and if you want to see other DIY projects :). Have a lovely night loves, I am going to relax for a while, then sleep!

See you in my next post loves! By the way, hello to all my new followers, and thank you so much for taking the time out to read my blog!

Night darlings,

Halloween Cupcakes

Hi Darlings!

How are you all? Hope you have all had a lovely week so far, and are all getting in to the Halloween spirit! I have carved pumpkins, bought some decorations for my desk at work, and of course done some baking! I LOVED the look of other bloggers cupcakes, and just felt so inspired to make my own. So, after work, I drove to B&M and Home Bargains (both of these stores are EXCELLENT for Halloween decorations and treats, and everything is super cheap too!), and picked up some bits up for my cupcakes!

Now, I have to admit, I do love baking but it is very rare that I actually put time aside to do it. However, I thought Halloween would be the perfect opportunity to make some really fun cupcakes! They were also so quick to make, and very easy too! Soo… Lets get on to the recipe 🙂

Also, this recipe made 12 cupcakes 🙂

  • 200 ml Water
  • 85 g Butter
  • 85 g Caster Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Golden Syrup
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 225 g Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp Plain Cocoa

Buttercream Frosting :

  • 6 tbsp Butter (softened)
  • 175 g Icing Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 2-3 drops Vanilla Essence
  • few drops of food colouring (orange and green)

  • Halloween inspired cupcake cases
  • Chocolate Sprinkles
  • Halloween decorations (chocolate coins, halloween iced toppings)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees/gas mark 4. Line your cupcake pan with 12 cupcake cases.

Add the water, butter, sugar and syrup to a saucepan over medium heat and stir gently, until the sugar has dissolved. Once it has started to boil slightly, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Then, leave this to cool.

After, place the milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl, and add the bicarbonate of soda. Stir to dissolve.

In a separate bowl, sift the flour and cocoa, and then add the syrup mixture and the milk mixture. Beat until it is smooth. Using an ice cream scoop, spoon the mixture into the cases.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes (do keep a eye on them), and take out once they have risen well and are firm to touch. Leave to cool.

Whilst you are waiting for the cupcakes to cool, it is time to make the frosting. Put the butter in a bowl and beat until it is fluffy. Sift in the icing sugar and beat together well, adding in the milk and vanilla essence. Then separate the frosting in to two bowls, adding green food colouring to one, and orange to the other. Stir well.

Place the frosting in two separate piping bags, and pipe half the cupcakes with orange frosting, and the other half with green (or however you like). Then, add the Halloween chocolate coins to some, the icing decorations to the others, and a sprinkling of chocolate sprinkles to each one!

And that is all! See, told you they were easy and quick! They do look so amazing. I love the chocolate coins so much :), they really added so much to the cupcakes. I really hope you give these a go, they tasted like mini chocolate fudge cakes! I took some for the girls at work, who all complimented them, which is always a plus!

Anyways guys, that is it for this blog post .. my next one will be a very exciting one (well for me anyway :D).. I will give you a hint.. it is Autumn inspired, and includes DIY’s… can you guess what it will be?

I hope to see you there! Hope you all have a lovely evening :). Do let me know if you give these yummy cupcakes a go 🙂

Lots of love,

Saira xx

~Shawls, Shirts & Starbucks~

Hi lovelies!

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday (and for those of you in the UK, do not feel too strange with the clocks going back)! I have just been doing household chores, and getting some ideas for an up and coming blog post (which I cannot wait to share with you – really hope you like it!)

Anyway, I took some outfit pictures yesterday of a shawl featured in a previous post – as the lighting was rubbish, so you could not really see the outfit properly! I went shopping to a designer outlet in Wakefield yesterday, as it was my mum’s birthday, and that is on of her favourite places to shop! In the evening, we went out to eat, and on the way home picked up some Krispy Kreme doughnuts (yummy). I always find that I treat myself on the weekends A LOT (foodwise) – Anybody else do the same? I hope it is not just me :P.

So.. lets get on to the outfit ….

SAM_1949 SAM_1956 SAM_1957 SAM_1960

By the way …. It was FREEZING yesterday … you definitely felt like it was October. This shawl really kept me cozy though. I love that it is so big, so I could keep my hands warm (which my Hazelnut Hot Chocolate from Starbucks also helped with :D). I love that it is getting colder though … I cannot wait to start wearing gloves again! (I will of course crochet myself a pair :P). SAM_1962 SAM_1965 SAM_1970

For the rest of my outfit, I kept it pretty basic, as I wanted the focus to be on the shawl. I wore an oversized blue shirt, black jeggings and black ankle boots. I also just kept it simple with a black hijab and red lips :). SAM_1974

How CUTE is this Halloween display in one of the sweet shops ? I had to take a photo of it :). SAM_1976 SAM_1982 SAM_1984

So there we have it .. My very warm, cozy outfit, perfect for Autumn! I think shawls like this will be perfect for upcoming bonfire nights, as you can really wrap up in it! I want to get a black one (obviously), which I will be able to wear with more or less everything. You should really pick one of these up, they are so comfortable and easy to wear – and I have seen them in SO many places. As I mentioned before, mine is from Matalan, and only cost me £12… they also have quite a few other styles/prints.

My shirt is an oldie from H&M, but again, you can find this in any high street store. Jeggings are my beloved ones from the market, Hijab is also from a market :). My boots are Primark (you should be able to find them in your local one), and my fur scarf is New Look (Again, they are doing these everywhere this season, so you will be able to find one.)

There we have it … I LOVED this outfit so much, and wore it in the evening too (well, I did swap my shirt to an over-sized jumper). I definitely suggest you all go pick up one of these shawls… It is like having a blanket wrapped around you all day 🙂

So… I am now going to spend the rest of the day chilling out, planning blog posts, taking some outfit pictures, and catching up on everyone’s social media/blogs!

Have a good one my loves, and see you in my next post 😀

My Favourite Beauty Products EVER!

Good evening guys!

Are you all well? I hope so! How has everyone’s week been? .. I am excited that it is Friday tomorrow (seriously these weeks go by way too quick .. it is almost the end of October … whattt!?). The clock ALSO go back this week.. so it is helloooo to darker, cozier evenings! I think I am one of the select few who actually likes this ;P. It is also Halloween next week… do you have any plans? I think I will be spending my night watching scary movies, telling scary stories and carving pumpkins!

So.. I was so excited all week to write this post .. it is my favourite beauty products! There are some old favourites, as well as some new purchases which I have fallen in love with! I will try and link as many products as possible. I have also included both make-up and beauty things – so there was a variety for you all to read about! Anyways guys .. lets get onto the products!

Make Up

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Foundation – This is my GO TO foundation – it is the BEST foundation I have ever come across. I am sure you have all heard the excellent reviews of it too – although I know some people have said it can be slightly heavy. If this is the case, try using less, mixing with moisturizer and using a finishing spray to get that gorgeous “dewy” look. It also really does “stay in place”.. this foundation just does not budge! I also took it on holiday to Turkey, and used it alongside the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and my makeup did so well to last all day! It is on the pricier side, at £30 (and going up by 50p every year.. I remember when it cost me £27!) .. however I don’t think I will ever stop buying this foundation!

Revlon Colour Stay Foundation – Now this is a good dupe for the Estee Lauder foundation – I like to use this on days where I am not doing much. It is such a popular foundation amongst so many bloggers, and I really think it is a staple in every beauty bloggers collection! It is amazing because you can get it for both normal/dry and combination skin. It is also so much cheaper, at £12.99. It looks gorgeous on the skin, has amazing lasting power, and comes in so many different shades.

Rimmel 9 in 1 BB Cream – I remember a few years ago when BB creams first became popular, but I could never find one that I liked. However, I came across this Rimmel one, and it has become a favourite in my collection. It really makes your skin look flawless, but feels like you have no product on at all. BB creams are perfect for lazy weekends, summer days, and for those of you at school where a lot of make up is not allowed! This one is excellent – Rimmel states it “Primes, Moisturises, Minimises Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smoothes, Mattifies, Brightens and helps Protect” – and I could not agree more with this! Give it a go girls 🙂

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – I cannot think of one person who I have spoken to who has not tried and loved this product! It is such a staple, and the fact that it is £3.99 makes me love it even more! I use it every single day to set my foundation, and it helps keep my skin matte and looking flawless. The Estee Lauder foundation and this powder together are an amazing combination… I cannot go a day without using this powder!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – I recently discovered this brush again, and I have used it every day since! It helps your foundation go on so smoothly and evenly, and is excellent at blending it in. Before using it on my face, I spray some finishing spray on the brush and then blend my foundation. I find this really gives your skin a lovely dewy look, and also helps it look flawless. I highly recommend it!

17 Blush in “First Flush” – I love the blushers from the “Seventeen” range at Boots – they are so affordable and give the skin such a lovely flush. I find they last all day and are not “chalky”. I have also tried “First Kiss”, which is a softer pink shade.

Mac in “Creme Cup”, Kate Moss by Rimmel in “001”, and Bourjois Rouge Edition in “Fuchsia Graffiti” – These lipsticks are my favourite .. I love every single one of them so much. Creme Cup is such a beautiful pinky-nude, every day shade, and it is also super moisturizing for the lips. Kate Moss 001 is my favourite red lipstick, and if you have read my previous posts, you will know how much I ADORE this lipstick. Also, Fuchsia Graffiti is a gorgeous hot pink, which I love to wear when I want a very bold, bright lip. It also lasts for so long on the lips! And nothing beats good old Vaseline .. the cocoa butter one smells so amazing – I have one in my handbag, on on my bedside table, and one on my desk at work!

Hand/Feet Products

Rituals Hand Scrub & Rituals Cooling Foot Balm – I got both of these in a gift set from my husband, and I instantly fell in love with both of these products. Firstly, they both smell amazing.. and secondly, they do such an excellent job at making you feel pampered when you use them. I am such a huge fan of anything by the brand “Rituals”, I feel like I have just been to a spa when I use their products! Both these have such a lovely, feminine scent that is not overpowering at all, and it really lingers for so long. I have tried so many products from here, and I think my favourite scent is “Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk” – they have a body spritz that I was obsessed with during the summer. Next time you pass a Rituals store – do go in and have a look – their stores have such a lovely aura about them!

Clinique Deep Comfort Hand & Cuticle Cream – I use this after the Rituals Hand Scrub, and it makes my hands feel so soft! I never used to bother with cuticle cream before, but I love that this cream is for hand and cuticles too .. It makes me feel like I am having a mini hand treatment every time I do this! This lives by my bedside table, so I never forget to put it on every night – especially with the colder months coming by!

Nails INC by Glamour – I got this beautiful nail polish free in Glamour magazine. and I fell in love instantly. It looks so beautiful on the nails, and is perfect for Autumn! I much prefer natural looking nails, so this will be my go to nail polish for this season!

Palmers Solid Cocoa Butter – This has been my favourite body butter since I was about 15. I get through it so quick as I use it every morning and evening. I will probably use it for the rest of my life (Yes really!.. I have heard cocoa butter works amazingly on stretch marks, cellulite, and moisturizing your body.. SUCH A PERFECT PRODUCT).  It also smells amazing.. literally as soon as you open the tub, all you can smell is brownies!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel – You knew some lush goodies would be featured in this! 😛 Firstly, Snow Fairy! I have fallen in love with this shower gel. This was the first year I bought it, and oh my I will be going back to Lush to stock up! If you like sweet scents, you will ADORE this product. You need the smallest amount on a loofah, and it lathers up so well, the scent lingers for so long on your skin,  and makes it feel so soft! It literally smells just like candy floss, and looks so pretty in your shower!

Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly – This product is AMAZING.. it smells so yummy (seriously, next time you are in Lush, please have a smell!) It is also so much FUN to use in the shower, you can either just grab the whole “jelly” and lather it over your body, or rub it in on a loofah and lather on your body. It feels so cooling on your skin, and the scent also lasts for ages! I think this product is quite under-rated, but it really is worth a try.. I am sure you will love it!

The Body Shop Coconut Scrub – Now, I think all the body scrubs from The Body Shop are amazing, but there is something about the coconut one that I love so much. It makes your skin feel so smooth after using it, and it the scent is so yummy! I have always loved The Body Shop, I have gone there for years and adore their body butters, scrubs and body mists. They have such a variety of scents – something for everyone!

Nina Ricci L’extase Eau de Parfum – I have a confession to make, this was my mum’s perfume, and I actually used it all up (whoops!). It has such a gorgeous scent, and I am the WORST at describing scents – so here is the description of it online “The fragrance opens with spicy pink pepper which then turns into a heart of sensual rose and fresh white flowers. All is then finished in a soft base of benzoin, musk, cedar and amber.” It is so long lasting, and I feel it is much more of a “grown up” scent, compared to the sugary, fruit scents I usually wear (hehe). It was “my” everyday perfume for work – and I will definitely be repurchasing!

And there we have it guys.. my favourite beauty/make up products! I feel like there are so many more that I would love to include, but this post would end up going on forever! Let me know what your faves are! I am now going to relax for a while, catch up on Twitter/Instagram and all your blogs! I also now have Blog Lovin’, so do follow me!

Lots of love,

Saira xo

Lets go on a Road Trip!

Hiya sweethearts!

How have you all been?! I feel as though it has been so long since I have just sat down and blogged to my hearts  content :). I hope you have all had a lovely Monday.. mine has been slightly crazy. It started as normal, I set off for work at 7:45am, thinking I would get there around 8:10am (as usual)  – little did I know I would be a whole hour late to work due to gridlock traffic (which I found out later was due to a stabbing on one of the bypasses (!!!). I actually would have been even later, but I decided to park up where I could and walk! I really do hate being late anywhere, but I think the majority of the people at the office had experienced the traffic – and sometimes it cannot be helped!

So, the rest of my day was spent getting as much work done as possible – I then went to visit one of my cousins who has recently had a baby! Now, I am all set to blog, catch up on other blogs and everyone’s Twitter & Instagram (I will post both my links below :D)

Now, back to my weekend.. It started on Friday afternoon, when I finished work early. My husband was picking up a car in Bournemouth (which is around 5 hours away from where I live).. So we set off around 2:30pm, stopping for some food on the way, and got there at around 9:30pm. We were lucky enough to stay in a Travelodge literally 2 minutes from the beach, which was perfect! We actually went for a walk on the beach at night .. it was so peaceful. I am truly envious of people of those who live near the beach – you are so lucky!

For my outfit at night, I wanted to wear my new shawl/cape that I picked up from Matalan – at an absolute STEAL for £12 .. not to mention I had an extra 20% off :). The link for it is here: I really love Matalan, they have some amazing clothes and shoes.. as well as being affordable .. do check them out :). I have wanted to buy one of these shawls for the longest time, and literally GRABBED this one when I saw it :). I paired it with my fur scarf to add extra warmth too.

IMAG2007 IMAG2008

(I apologize for the bad quality of these photos – it was very dark 😦 )

The next morning, I got everyone up early to watch the sunrise on the beach – it was an absolutely stunning view ..  I never get a clear view of the sunrise (I live in the city – and there is always some sort of building/house blocking the view!).

SAM_1878 SAM_1899

I also took some outfit pictures on the beach, as I thought it was such a good background!.. There were also beach huts, which I think would be so fun to book out for the day (I am already planning my next trip here!).. I think they made such a cute backdrop too :).

SAM_1893 SAM_1840 SAM_1849 SAM_1850SAM_1873

Can you believe I am wearing a pair of jeans?! They are so soft and comfortable though.. not like your usual pair of stiff jeans. This is probably one of the most casual outfits I have on my blog.. But I knew I would be sat in the car for the majority of the day, so wanted to be as comfortable as possible! I paired the jeans with an over-sized grey top and a flannel shirt – this shirt is SO comfortable guys, and gives an outfit such a laid back vibe. I will be completely honest though loves.. I pinched both these items from my mum’s wardrobe (whoopsie :P).. I guess that is just expected when you are both the same size :).. anybody else “borrow” their mum’s things ;)? Moving on… I wanted to add warmth to the outfit, so layered up with my fur vest 🙂 – I also thought I would rock my Converse (I think every girl needs a pair of these!). My hijab of choice was a lovely cream, cotton fabric that was so easy to wear, and I felt just complimented the whole outfit :).

We then enjoyed an English breakfast, and headed off to the garage that was actually in Dorset to pick up my husband’s new car… which is a beautiful Audi A6 (WOW Mashallah!). After, we headed off on a road trip, passing through an amazing place in Somerset called “Chedder Gorge”, a beautiful Abbey in Wales, a country park in Leominster, and then back home up north (phew!!).  SAM_1902 SAM_1904 SAM_1914 How cute is this little display! I love shops like this, and there were so many at “Chedder Gorge” .. it really is an amazing place to visit, I only wish I could have spent more time there :). SAM_1917 SAM_1922

So guys, that is what I got up to on Friday and Saturday .. along with my outfits that I wore! On Sunday, we actually went to The Trafford Centre in Manchester, and then visited a steak place, which was very yummy :). I really hope you liked this post and having an insight into my weekend … and also the outfits! I am now all set to catch up all your blogs, and then sleep, ready for work tomorrow :). I really want to do a beauty post next, possibly my favourite products at the moment .. both make up and beauty.

Hope you enjoy your evening lovelies!

Get to know me .. on the go :)

Hi my loves!

I am writing a blog on the go again .. we are currently driving through the south of England – on a road trip! We have actually just picked up a new car for my husband (Which is BEAUTIFUL!). I will put up a blog post about the whole trip once I am back home in the comfort of my own room!

For now.. I really wanted to blog, and thought the Get To Know Me tag would be perfect :). So… I hope you enjoy this !

1.What is your middle name? I am not the biggest fan of my middle name … it is Bano (haha)

2. What was favorite subject at school?: I loved English Literature, and studied it at A Level.. I used to love reading and analyzing books. I also found Psychology really interested, and have a degree in it.

3. What is your favorite drink?: It HAS to be Nutella hot chocolate and green tea :P. Also, nothing beats a good cuppa after a long day 🙂

4. What is your favorite song at the moment?: I have so many songs that I cannot stop listening to.. the songs that are on repeat at the moment are “Do It Again” by Pia Mia & Chris Brown, “Wildest Dream” by Taylor Swift, and “Writings on the Wall” by Sam Smith.. I like such a variety of music though 🙂

5. What is your favorite food?: Chicken steak and chips (YUM), Chicken Biryani, Spicy Chicken Pasta…. I just love food so much (Hehehe)

6. What is the last thing you bought?: Dark chocolate covered rice cakes and granola from the shop at work :). And for clothes, an over-sized black and white shirt.

7. Favorite book of all time?: I haven’t read a really good book in so long.. I started reading “Gone Girl”, but could not find the time to really get in to it. For now, I much prefer reading blog posts :).

8. Favorite Color?: Black (you will know this if you follow my blog :P). I also love pastel colours, such as mint and lilac.

9. Do you have any pets?: Yes, a cat called Cookie.. and you will have seen him in a previous blog post. He is probably the most vocal cat I have ever come across, as well as very affectionate .. and I love him so much!

10. Favorite Perfume?: It has to Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline .. Oh my goodness guys if you have not smelt this perfume, and you like fresh, citrus scents, you must try this! It is such a beautiful scent, and lasts all day .. I highly recommend it :).

11. Favorite Holiday? Now reading other blog posts, I think this means your favourite “national holiday”.. I think for me it has to be Christmas time. Being a Muslim, we do not really “celebrate” it, but I love the atmosphere everywhere when it is Christmas time 🙂

12. Are you married?: Yes I have been married for 2 years – I got married at 21 after I graduated – some people might thing this is quite young – But I knew I had met the right man (Who I had known for almost 5 years at the time).. and I could not be happier :).

13. Have you ever been out of the country, if so how many times? Yes I have been to Dubai, Turkey, Pakistan and France. I would love to go visit so many other countries, as I love seeing and experiencing other cultures.

14. Do you speak any other language?: I know a LITTLE Urdu .. and can speak it slightly .. I also understand it (again slightly hehe). When I was younger, I could speak perfect Urdu, but when I started school, I stopped, and unfortunately have forgotten quite a lot of it :(.

15. How many siblings do you have?: I have 2 sisters and 1 brother, and I am the eldest.

16. What is your favorite shop?: My favourite shops are Primark, New Look and Topshop. I also love eBay and markets for clothes.. you can find some little gems there, and they are super cheap too.

17. Favorite restaurant?: It has to be Toro’s steakhouse in Leicester.. It has the most amazing chicken/beef steak EVER .. no steakhouse that I have been to beats the food there. I am getting hungry thinking about it now :(.

18. When was the last time you cried?: I am quite an emotional person and cry over little things – and I actually got a little teary today. So guys, at the moment we have just got on the road again.. Having left a place called “Chedder Gorge”.. I think it is in Somerset?!.. I have never ventured this far South of England before.. But it is truely beautiful! I actually started typing this blog on the laptop.. Which has now died on me (boo!) so I am having to type the rest of this on my phone 😛

Thank you for taking the time out to read this blog.. I cannot wait to do a post about this road trip! Hope to see you there!

Jewel Tones

Evening dollys!

How are you all? For some reason it feels like it has been so long since I have blogged (even though I posted TWO posts on Saturday)… Maybe its because I haven’t been as active on social media than usual. Sunday seemed to fly by.. I visited my favourite Sunday Market, returned some things in town, then headed off to Matalan, as my husband had gotten some 20% off vouchers, so I made the most of it :). I picked up the most BEAUTIFUL shawl, which I will feature very soon.. and what makes it even better, it was originally £12 (!!), and I then got 20% off too .. wooo! After, I took some outfit photos, for my posts during the week, caught up on X Factor, showered and snuggled into bed.. all set for work on Monday!

So… this outfit was actually from Saturday when I went to Manchester. I loved how the colours just went together – the emerald green of the top and the maroon colour of the hijab complimented each other so beautifully. They reminded me of jewel tones, and I think this colour combination is perfect for Autumn :).

SAM_1728 SAM_1724 SAM_1723

The beautiful sleeveless blazer was from the Sunday Market, and cost a whole £5 :D.. I love layering up so much, and I find sleeveless blazers/gilets go so well when you have a jumper underneath – It adds warmth and looks stylish too.  SAM_1715 SAM_1714

I paired with jeggings, boots, and my signature red lip .. I am on the hunt for the perfect berry/dark lip though :D. The hijab is also from the Sunday Market (Ok.. maybe I do buy too many things from the market .. it can’t be helped, I love a bargain :P).  SAM_1713 SAM_1708 SAM_1706 SAM_1705 SAM_1704

That is the whole look.. I love the sleeveless blazer so much, and want to buy more :P.. they are so great for adding length and coverage if you have a short top. It also just adds dimension to an outfit, and helps it not look so plain. I recommend them highly as a styling piece! Hope you like this outfit guys!

Well.. let me update you on my busy Monday .. Work was so CRAZY.. and I actually spent the afternoon driving to and from Wakefield (don’t ask). I am just so glad to be home, in my pj’s and cuddling up in a blanket.

I hope you liked this outfit guys .. I think I may make my next post a “Get to know me.” I don’t know about you, but I always like to know a little bit about the person behind the blog (this may be my nosy side coming out :P).. Let me know what you think :).

If you’re not already.. follow me on Instagram: @throughtheglitterglass and Twitter: @saira1816.. I try to update these as regularly as I can too :).

Thank you so much for reading my loves.. hope you have a lovely evening, and I will catch up with you in my next post 🙂

Love: Hot Chocolate :)

How to: Nutella & Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Evening sweethearts 🙂IMG_6283

Here I am for the second time today.. with a very special post :). This will be the recipe for two of the most amazing drinks ever.. Nutella and Peppermint Hot Chocolate :D. These two very different drinks are so perfect for cosy Autumn nights, when all you want to do is cuddle up with a hot drink and watch movies. I have been making these for the past few years and have got so many people hooked as they are so easy to make, yet are absolutely delicious!

Right.. onto the things that you will need:

Nutella Hot Chocolate:

  • Nutella – 2 tbsp’s (or more if you want it sweeter)
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Cinnamon, Whipped Cream, Sprinkles, Chocolate Wafers (optional)

Pour half the milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Add the Nutella and whisk until it gets frothy. Add the rest of the milk and a small sprinkling of of cinnamon (optional) and continue to whisk for a few minutes. Then, pour into a cute mug, add whipped cream, sprinkles and chocolate wafer for decoration!

SAM_1736 SAM_1738

Peppermint Hot Chocolate:

  • Milk – 1 Cup
  • Hot Chocolate Powder – 3 tbsp
  • Peppermint Extract – 2-3 drops (depending on how strong you want the peppermint taste)
  • Whipped cream and Candy Canes

Add half the milk and heat over medium heat. Add the hot chocolate powder and whisk. Add the peppermint extract and the rest of the milk and continue to whisk for a few minutes. Pour into a mug, add whipped cream and some crushed candy canes on top, and a full candy cane to the mug.

As I used quite tall mugs, my chocolate stick actually sunk into my drink (whoops!) – This would be fine if you have normal sized mugs 😛

And it is as easy as that! I absolutely love making these – you can decorate them as you wish, and get cute mugs to drink them in. There is just something so special about hot drinks during Autumn time, and we all know that the Starbucks and Costa drinks are so fun to get every now and again .. but it is lovely to make your own too! I highly suggest you give these a go … I know you will love them :).

So lovelies, hope you have had a wonderful Saturday .. I have spent the day in Manchester, taken some outfit pictures, and then just spent the evening in my PJ’s having catch ups with my family (and drinking these yummy drinks!). I really have loved interacting with so many of you … and coming across new faces and blogs.. I just love the community :). Take care sweeties, and I will see you in my next post.

Lots of love,

Over-Sized Cardigans Are The Best :)

Hi my loves!

Its the weekend! Gosh, I have had such a tiring week at work, and am so glad that I have 2 days to lie in and just chill out :). I thought I would kick start my weekend with a blog post (what better way than to do this :D).. I took these photos last weekend, and almost forgot about them!

SAM_1596 SAM_1598 SAM_1606

Right, lets talk about this cosy little outfit – I am the biggest lover of anything “over-sized” and cosy .. I remember a few years ago we would have had to buy clothes a few sizes bigger to get that over-sized look, but now you can find this style everywhere. I think it is great for us hijab wearers, as we don’t have the problem of tight clothes – and besides I find this style so much more comfortable :). So, my cardigan is a grey colour, with slight “shimmer” through it – this is very subtle though, and I think this makes the cardigan so much more beautiful, compared to the standard grey. My top is another find from a car boot sale – costing me a whole 50p (!!!!!). I love the checkered detail on it, and funnily enough it is actually a size 20! It is a beautiful chiffon fabric, and is so loose and comfortable. Yes guys – there is a pattern in my outfits, anything loose, cosy and grey.. I basically will wear :P.SAM_1615 SAM_1616 SAM_1623

My beautiful fur scarf made an appearance again – I honestly love this thing so much. My outfits feel almost incomplete without this little gem. My boots are the beauties from Primark that I picked up for £18! The hijab is dark grey, to compliment the outfit nicely. Also black jeggings AGAIN (tehehe). My bag of choice is also a very small cross body bag in a gorgeous cream colour. It  just about holds me purse, phone and keys (eekk .. I had to swap it over to a bigger bag when going out though .. I cannot handle smaller bags). Take one guess what lipstick I have on guys 😉SAM_1626 SAM_1629 SAM_1636 So that is my outfit! It is so cosy and warm- I think the key to dressing in Autumn is layering, as you can wear pretty tops with big cardigans – and it is not that cold yet, so you don’t have to wear a big coat. Hope you liked this outfit dolls!

Cardigan – Dorothy Perkins

Top – Carboot

Jeggings – Zara

Hijab – Market

Boots – Primark

Fur scarf – New Look

Bag – Dorothy Perkins

So.. update on my Saturday .. I had a lie in and then just mooched around for a while on blogs/Instagram. I then started on this post.. but my husband then actually suggested going to Manchester. So.. here I am .. using my iPhone for internet and typing away in the back of the car on my laptop.. on the motorway. Well.. I couldn’t just leave my blog half typed up could I :)?

Well guys.. I will have to leave now as my battery on my laptop is already low (I need a better one).. I hope you all a lovely Saturday .. do let me know what you get up to!

Lots of Love,

Saira xx
