London Diaries: OOTD, Essentials & LYDC♥

Hey loves!♥

Happy Sunday… how has your weekend been so far?! Hope you have had an amazing one!! I have just had a very lazy, chilled Saturday (especially after my busy weekend last week!).. I’ve just spent the day taking blog photos.. reading some blogs (obviously).. and then just having some relaxing time!! I think it is always SO helpful to just have a weekend (especially if your week is SO full on and busy) to literally just chill out and not do too much (OK.. what I am trying to say is just spend the weekend at home being a lazy slob HA!)… DON’T JUDGE ME GUYS.. I have not had one of these weekends for a while hehe!

RIGHT THEN…. lets get on with this shall we! I am so excited for this post (as I seem to be about every single one HA!) – if you read my previous post HERE about my time at the Bloggers_Hangout event, you would know that I was going to do ANOTHER post about my trip to London, which would BASICALLY include my OOTD, travel essentials and just general chit chat! SO… I really hope you like this style of post my loves! Have a peek below……

Now… I want to give you a quick few tips that I followed when I travelled to London that definitely helped.. and some things I DIDN’T DO WHICH YOU GUYS SHOULD AVOID TOO! So hopefully girlies.. this will make your coach/train/car journey to anywhere a little bit easier!

Do’s♥

DO – Leave your house without makeup (GASP!).. I know.. but honestly I had to get on the coach at 5:40am.. and this would mean waking up probably a whole HALF HOUR EARLIER THAN I HAD TO.. doing my makeup in darkness AND trying to apply eye-liner/mascara to the world’s puffiest eyes – NOT FUN GUYS. Also.. if you tend to doze off on your journey, your make-up has died already. I did my makeup on the coach (yes.. it was difficult BUT I WAS SUCCESSFUL!).. but you can always do it when you stop off somewhere

DO – Stretch your legs when you can – if you are on a coach/train, whenever it makes a stop, just get up from your seat and walk down the aisle and back to your seat.. this helps avoid your poor feet getting swollen/falling asleep

DO – Double up your huge tartan scarf as a blanket… this was a lifesaver for me. Coaches can get quite chilly .. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO TO GET IT WARMER.. So my scarf was a LIFESAVER for me and my sister

Don’ts♥

DON’T – Leave the house without headphones/a phone charger/back up charger. I had my back up chargers for my phone.. BUT WE FORGOT HEADPHONES!! So this resulted in me and my sister watching Gossip Girl with SUBTITLES.. I hate subtitles ha! We actually picked up a pair from London for the journey home (obviously they were cheap and broke.. but hey, they lasted us our trip!). I know this might sound weird.. but I actually do not own any decent headphones AT ALL! I think I really need to get myself some guys!

DON’T – Overdo it on the water. I know.. I cannot believe I am writing this either. I am the biggest water drinker EVER.. But I cannot even deal with coach toilets! If you are on a car journey.. then it is fine because YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER STOPS ETC.. But with coaches they normally never give you time to stop at services etc. Instead.. I stuck to eating things like grapes/strawberries etc.. and sipped on water every now and again to keep myself hydrated – BUT NOT GULP DOWN A WHOLE LITRE LIKE I USUALLY DO!

OK… So these are just a few tips I picked up through my PERSONAL experiences on a long haul coach journey! I would LOVE to know what your tips are loves! It is not usual I use public transport now as I drive.. however, a 4 hour drive to London, then driving/parking in London.. and a 4 hour drive BACK on the same day…hmm, I didn’t really fancy that to be fair :(.

RIGHT THEN… onto the NEXT part of this post.. MY TRAVEL ESSENTIALS!♥

SAM_3974

BLOGGER ESSENTIALS♥

Phone (for obvious reasons)

Camera (again loves.. obvious)

Charger (I don’t know about you.. but my phone cannot go a day without needing to be charged again AT LEAST ONCE!)

Headphones (please see my DON’T list above)

Purse (where else are we going to store our business cards loves)

SAM_3986

TWO KINDS OF SPRAY♥

SAM_3988

Facial spray (I have my make-up setting one, but I also had my rosewater toner.. it is AMAZING at making you feel more awake on boring coach journeys… AND it makes your skin feel amazing!)

Body Spray (I do NOT fancy carrying around a beautiful BUT BLOODY HEAVY perfume battle all day – so WOO for sprays in plastic bottles that smell yummy!)

THINGS TO MAKE YOU FEEL PRETTY♥

SAM_3989

Make-up (as mentioned above.. I had my WHOLE make-up bag with me to do my make-up on the coach.. BUT my essentials are definitely eye makeup, highlighter, a bright lipstick – OH and concealer)

Hand cream & Lip Balm – (come one loves… I cannot be the only one who LOVES putting these on.. I feel like I am having a little pamper sesh in my seat when I do!)

THINGS TO MAKE YOU FEEL CLEAN/ALIVE♥

SAM_3993

Make-up wipes – (for taking off makeup on the DREADED JOURNEY HOME – and to also save you if you make a mistake whilst applying your make-up on a BUMPY COACH

Tissues – (tissues are just everything.. where would we be without tissues guys?)

Toothpaste & Toothbrush – (I carry these around DAILY haha! So of course.. they are an absolute ESSENTIAL for travelling.. especially if you have had a bit of a snooze and just want to feel refreshed.)

Chewing Gum – (Can help if you feel sick whilst travelling, and also just as a general refresher)

Painkillers – (FOR THAT DREADED HEADACHE YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GET FROM BEING ON A COACH SO LONG)

SAM_3995

Snacks – (Oooh… definitely an essential for me guys.. I cannot go 5 hours without SOME SORT OF SNACK. Keep the snacks “clean” and small.. fruit, breakfast bars and some cheeky chocolate will keep your energy up until you can get some PROPER FOOD)

SAM_3994

So.. they were my little SAVIOURS on my coach trip! Make sure to let me know what travel essentials YOU need! Of course.. ALL of these (and more.. make sure to check out my What’s In My Bag post) were stored in my FAVOURITE HANDBAG EVER*. This bag just literally comes EVERYWHERE with me… it is honestly the BEST bag for travelling (for me anyways :P)… it is SO spacious and structured, so everything just stays PUT and doesn’t fly around everywhere! It is also SO BEAUTIFUL.. and matches with practically every outfit I have. I think another ESSENTIAL for travelling is definitely a backpack style bag… with my FAVOURITE being THIS ONE from LYDC .. I just LOVE the colour of it.. SO PERFECT FOR SPRING!♥

SAM_3974

You can check out LYDC London for similar bags.. I have *all the heart eyes* emojis when I look at their range! Make sure to check them out… AND don’t forget to use my code “SAIRA10” to get 10% off!

Outfit Of The Day♥

Let’s get onto… my OUTFIT NOW WOO! Of course if you KNOW ME BY NOW GUYS (which I hope you do).. you know my obsession with pinafores. So OF COURSE.. I had to have a pinafore for my trip to London right? Have a peek below angels!♥

SAM_3803SAM_3824SAM_3808SAM_3781

Ohhhh I just cannot get over how much I love this pinnie .. it is also from New Look just like my denim one.. but this one is SO COMFORTABLE and soft.. and I also know I can wear it for work too, YAY!

I am in absolute LOVE with my speckled jumper… I saw it in a charity shop the day before I went to London and FELL IN LOVE. I ADORE jumpers of this style and colour… so literally GRABBED IT! It also kept me SO WARM.. I know this jumper will look absolutely perfect with my denim pinnie too! Trust me girlies.. if you haven’t already .. go out and buy a pinnie!

SAM_3790SAM_3784SAM_3775SAM_3793

I knew I would be walking around ALL DAY.. so I wore my trusty black Primark ankle boots.. I could literally walk up a mountain in these (erm..OK.. maybe that is exaggerating HA!).. BUT I definitely had no trouble walking round London AND hopping on and off the underground in these shoes.. I LOVE THEM! For my hijab.. I just stuck to my favourite black and white one to finish off the look!

SAM_3795SAM_3782

GUESS WHO IS ROCKING NUDE LIPS GUYS! I am LOVING them so far.. definitely a change from my regular red/berry tones.. but nude lips are PERFECT for spring!

SAM_3794SAM_3801SAM_3791

So that was my outfit for that day … I definitely felt SO comfy but well put together too! I definitely think black pinafores have a smarter “feel” about them… and I adore mine!

Outfit Details♥

Black Pinafore – New Look

Speckled Jumper – Charity Shop

Bag and Pom Pom – LYDC*

Shoes – Primark (Similar HERE)

Hijab – Market

Lipstick – MAC Velvet Teddy & Kiko Milano 06

SO ANGELS.. For the rest of the day me and my sister just spent some hours strolling round London as you do.. I literally LOVE the city SO much.. and need to come here more often (it is SUCH a struggle when you live up North though!)… I will hopefully be planning a weekend trip here JUST FOR THE SHOPPING YAY!

SAM_3819

OK THEN… I REALLY hope you liked this insight into my day at London as well as the tips/advice for travelling! I would LOVE to know what your tips are.. and also if you have been to London lately (OR IF YOU LIVE IN LONDON!). I was SO excited to put this post up.. so I honestly hope♥ you guys REALLY enjoyed it! I am now going to chill for the rest of my Sunday.. before being back at work tomorrow! I will see you in my next post lovelies!♥

Lots of Love,

  1. So much detail in this post. I don’t really mind the toilets on the trains in Ireland so I am never too conscious about what I am drinking. Snacks are a definite go to also because the stuff on the train is so expensive.

I loved your little outfit. I have boots similar that I got in a sale in River Island. Been wearing them for absolute ages.
