Life Update … & My Favourite Purchase

Hey!

So .. I know I have been a little bit of a stranger to the blogging world recently (slap on the wrist I know!)… but I have a genuine reason .. promise. If you follow me on Twitter you would have known that a) I have started a new job recently, and b) my husband had major knee surgery last week. So… a combination of these has meant my little blog has unfortunately been pushed to the back of my mind – but hey, life gets in the way sometimes and guess what… that’s OK. It took me a while to really get that in my head because every time I didn’t take my blog/Instagram photos for that day or draft up my post, I felt guilty. But what you have to remember is that certain things in life are more important than that perfect Instagram shot or getting a post up at a certain time … I blog as a hobby, not a forced activity. So taking time out helps you realize that and for a long time I have had the mindset ‘quality over quantity’, which has really helped me because I never rush my posts and love every single one I put up.

Also … another thing that has probably led to my lack of posts is that I am getting slightly bored of the layout of my blog… but I have done some research and am actually going to (finally) self host.. AND get a whole new theme! I am also on the hunt for a new camera (yes I know I still have my £40 Samsung), but I am so torn as to whether I want a Canon or the Olympus Pen (help me!).

Phew.. that felt good to get off my chest! That is what I love about blogging .. you can literally pour your heart out on a post and instantly feel better about it.

Now … another reason why I want another camera is because I really miss doing fashion posts… and I just feel my camera is not up to taking shots that I am happy with. When I first starting blogging, it was completely fine and I was happy with it, but now that I want to up my game slightly (eeek), I want to invest in a camera that will give me shots I will be happy with and proud to put on my blog.

Speaking of fashion posts … I HAD to share with you probably the best purchase I have made recently. A few reasons why I love it.. it’s velvet, it’s black, it’s over-sized, and… it cost me £2.50 (!!)

sam_5442

sam_5464

sam_5465

This the reason I love charity shops so much … you can literally pick up some of the nicest, most unique things ever. As I was trawling the rails, I spotted this little velvet beauty and just fell in love. Velvet is absolutely huge this season… both for clothes and accessories… in fact I have velvet ankle boots on my wishlist because I just NEED them. There is something so luxe about velvet .. it is honestly one of my most favourite things to wear!

sam_5455

sam_5450

Sometimes velvet can be seen as something that is worn mostly for evenings out… but I wanted to show you that paired with the right things, you can rock velvet during the day. In fact.. I’ve been nice enough to come up with some helpful tips:

  • Wear something over-sized (over-sized tops, swing dress etc) I think it’s best to save the body-con stuff for the evenings guys (although if you feel like you want to rock it.. you go girl.. fashion is all about personal preference and being unique)
  • Make it casual by wearing it with some black jeans/trousers and boots/trainers
  • Try mixing up textures … velvet and knitwear are gorgeous together… especially if you have a velvet dress with an over-sized cardigan (ultimate Autumn outfit goals)
  • Velvet blazers are so easy to style and go with so much (a lot more than you would think!)
  • Personally.. my favourite colours in velvet are black, burgundy and forest green. What are yours?
  • If you want to incorporate a little bit of velvet, get your hands on some loafers/boots or a bag

So guys ..there are some of my tips for  wearing velvet … I really want to pick up some more velvet things and show you how easy it is to style them up!

I went for a really casual look and just love how comfortable this whole outfit was. The only thing I WISHED I had was a metallic backpack … I feel like that would have just completed the outfit SO well (I can imagine right).

I know I’d definitely be able to take this look into the evening by pairing it with some heeled boots and a bold lip (perfect!)

Right girls and boys … I think I have rambled on enough .. I hope you enjoyed my little life update and also tips on bringing some velvet into your wardrobe! I am off to watch Friends and cuddle up with my poorly hubby! I will see you all in my next one!

Lots Of Love,

Oh Look.. It’s A Black OOTD♥

Hey loves! It is the WEEKEND YAY!!! Have you had a good week? WHO ELSE GOT SNOW?! Yes… SNOW in March… this is definitely becoming a regular thing in the UK now ha! Snow in March, heatwaves in October…. WHAT ON EARTH IS WITH THIS BIZARRE WEATHER! I know myself and SO many other people just want it to be Spring now! Fingers crossed for some sun in the next few weeks!

So.. guess what I have today… it is an OUTFIT post.. and even better.. IT IS AN ALL BLACK ONE (ha!). Who says that just because it is March that I have to pack my black clothes away… I will STILL be wearing them in Summer hehe! As much as I am excited for the Spring weather to start… I really have been trying to make the most of my jumpers/cozy clothes before they are all packed away! Let’s have a peek below….

SAM_3910SAM_3963SAM_3877SAM_3940SAM_3882

Now lovelies… I was rooting around my wardrobe and I came across this BEAUTIFUL jacket that I got from a Mango outlet a few years ago… and I almost KICKED myself as I had gone the WHOLE of winter without wearing it! The poor thing must have fallen off the hanger and just lived on my wardrobe floor. It honestly is such a stunning little jacket… and I was just picturing so many different outfits I could wear this with! The black/grey/white colour means it is SO versatile (yay!).. and I am in LOVE with the ‘bomber’ style of it too… I know bomber jackets are quite popular for Spring.. so HERE I AM ROCKING THE TREND EARLY wooop!

SAM_3944SAM_3893SAM_3950SAM_3953

I knew from the second I saw this jacket that my outfit would be an all black one… and you know how I LOVE being a wild child and mixing textures in outfits… so OF COURSE I wore my lace top that I picked up from a Charity shop for £2 😛. I wore my black jeggings which I honestly CANNOT be without… I LOVE that they are a lovely style that never EVER gets loose around the knees and they are so comfy! I usually pick mine up from a local market for a tenner (BARGAIN HUNTER HA!)… but I cannot WAIT to pick up a pair of Joni jeans from Topshop too! I am also going to be branching out into boyfriend style jeans (GASP.. I know.. I have been in SUCH a rut of only wearing skinnies!).. but I can just imagine SO many outfit variations with them! I will be picking up a pair from Primark … that way I do not feel AS guilty if I only end up wearing them once because I look ridiculous ha! But HEY.. I WILL TRY MY BEST to make them work…. and possibly put up a post to show YOU how to style them.. especially for us short girls out there.. GIVE ME A WAVE GIRLS.. we know the struggles right?

SAM_3913SAM_3917SAM_3873SAM_3937SAM_3894SAM_3891SAM_3938

This look was completed with some black ankle boots, my baby (well… my beautiful handbag) and DARK VAMPY LIPS! How long do you think I can get away with wearing these? I also just wore a black hijab… anything else would have just been wrong right? I also have’Sweet Sherry’ by Model’s Own* on my nails… LOVE THIS SHADE SO MUCH.. and I actually had this on my nails for a WHOLE WEEK before it started to chip!

SAM_3878SAM_3968SAM_3960

HAUL:Kittens & Corduroy Skirts♥

Hiya lovelies!!!!

ITS THE WEEKEND!! I am SO chuffed that it finally is … It is Saturday morning right now and we will be setting off to Coventry soon (so no lie ins for me hehe!).

How has my week at work been ey? Well.. as usual VERY busy… on Friday I actaully had a whole day of Google training for work, which was SO informative.. my aim is to make my emails/calendar SUPER organised .. I know this will come in SO HANDY with blogging, when you have SO MANY emails to keep up with!! Speaking of blogging .. I WILL BE GOING TO MY FIRST EVER BLOGGING EVENT SOON! HOW exciting guys?!! I will be sure to blog ALL about it once I have been lovelies!!! Ok – how many times did I just say “blog” then (ha!).

So lovelies .. last weekend I went to the shops and picked up quite a few bargains… I actually bought 4 bits of clothing for £20 (eeeeeek!!!).. are you proud of my savvy shopping girlies?! I originally didn’t plan on buying anything .. but the little town I went to has SO many charity shops.. so I couldn’t resist a little browse (BTW … charity shopping tips coming up NEXT!!). I also then popped into Select.. who still had SO many clothes in their winter sales.. so of course.. I had to have a look right?

Everything

If you caught my last outfit post (if you didn’t .. you can check it out HERE loves), you would have seen my ADORABLE cat jumper from A CHARITY SHOP!!! I also picked up a few other things… have a peek below…..

So…. first things .. my BARGAINS from Select..

Strip Top

Firstly, we have this ADORABLE stripy top from Select. I am SUCH a fan of stripy tops.. and I LOVE the fact that this has beautiful crochet detailing at the bottom! It is a lovely thin, knitted style, not like the majority of woolly jumpers I have at the moment.. so it will be perfect for the coming spring months (Ohh yess darlings.. it is spring soon!). I picked it up for £6.99!!

Now .. I am the type of girl who likes to buy a complete outfit .. I can spend SO long in a shop matching up different things to find the perfect outfit! I think this is why I LOVE shopping alone.. as whoever comes with me ends up getting SO FED UP because I am SO indecisive ha! Is anybody else the same? (please say so!). So.. to go with the stripy top, I picked up this adorable corduroy skirt (you guys know I LOVE textures in my outfits :P). I LOVED it so much .. it was an absolute BARGAIN at £5.99 ..I also found the link HERE if you fancy picking it up!! It is an a-line style (which is quite different to what I normally pick up!!).. I also ADORE the colour .. don’t worry angels.. all the pieces I bought will be featured in OOTD’S soon so you WILL see how they look on!!

Outfit

Right .. onto my CHARITY SHOP purchases.. of course my favourite was the kitty jumper! I had SO many amazing comments about this jumper.. which made me smile so much!! I DO LOVE YOU ALL! To see how I styled this… you can check out my OOTD! Oh.. it was also only £3 (!!!!).

Kitty Jumper

I also picked up the adorable black lace top (it was SO hard to get a decent picture .. I will show it in an OOTD!!). It is a loose, flowy, quite bohemian top – I LOVE tops like this to wear with patterned/coloured trousers… and I can also smarten it up with a blazer and wear it to work! It has GORGEOUS detailing on the back.. which I cannot wait to show you in an outfit post!

So moving on to the only beauty item I purchased (well .. besides deodorant :P).. a highlighter from Make Up Revolution. I LOVE this brand so much … and after spotting their highlighter, I knew I could not leave Superdrug without it (did I mention it was £3???!!!). I could not WAIT to use it.. and actually applied some onto my cheekbones with my fingers in the car (AFTER I took some photos of it though ha!). It has gold glitter flecks in it, but NOT chunks of glitter.. it just  gives such a gorgeous glow to my skin!

Highlight

So my lovelies.. these were my purchases for the day!! I was SO happy with them all.. and cannot WAIT to feature these in my outfit posts!

Clothes

Also angels… I received an exciting package in the post.. after taking part in the Bloggers Hangout Twitter chat… I was lucky enough to be sent the Slendertoxtea 14 Day Detox! With it being the new year.. I REALLY have wanted to get back into clean eating and just having a right good detox .. so I will be starting this 14 day detox today .. and will also let you know how I get on!! I did a teatox last year.. and I found it helped SO much with bloating!! Make sure to stay tuned with my blog to see my journey through the detox!

Slendertoxtea

So my loves.. that is my haul from last week! I am actually going to Coventry now as my husband has an appointment with a knee specialist (if you have read my blog for a while, you will know that we took a trip last year to the same hospital too.. you can have a peek of our day HERE). My next post will be my CHARITY SHOP SHOPPING TIPS .. I am actually SO excited for this post angels!! I have had so many of you commenting saying you would love to see that post … this makes me SO exiting and happy to put it up!! Yay!!!!

Right lovelies.. I will see you in my next one!! Woop!!

Lots of Love,

Saira

Beauty Buys & Review!♥

Hey hey angels!!

How are you all!? Have you had a fabulous week?  I hope so! It is so weird … normally I find my weeks FLY by.. but for some reason, both me and my husband have found this week to be DRAGGING … I actually was a day ahead ha!

Anyways … I CANNOT wait for the weekend guys .. I literally want to take SO MANY OUTFIT photos, as I feel like I have not done an OOTD in a while, and I miss them! I will also (fingers crossed) be getting a new camera soon… so you should hopefully notice an improvement in the quality of my pictures (eeek!).

So lovelies … as some of you may know, I had my registry wedding last weekend.. and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to pick up some more make up! I So.. off I went early Friday morning to pick up some essentials! Boots are AMAZING because they always have some sort of offer with their beauty products! So sweeties.. should we see what made it into my basket :D….

All Products

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Maybelline wake me up concealer

Now.. I have literally heard SO MANY POSITIVE reviews of this little baby .. and believe it or not, I have NEVER used concealer in my everyday make up (SHOCK HORROR!!). I thought this one would be the perfect addition to my little collection!

Review♥:

Ok…. I have been using this concealer for almost a week.. and I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT IT! It is so easy to apply, blends in amazingly, and stays put for the majority of the day. I have been applying it under my eyes, around my nose and on any other blemishes. I find it doesn’t crease under my eyes … which is AMAZING! I think because I have huge, puffy eyes (please guys.. no owl eyes jokes :P), so many concealers just end up creasing.. but I found this one did not do that at all (woooooooo!). It also just makes me look SO MUCH MORE AWAKE.. So definitely does its job in waking me up (wow.. that was cheesy I know hehe!). I can definitely see why so many bloggers love it … I ADORE the foundation for the summer time too .. so cannot wait to re-purchase in a few months.. and use the foundation AND the concealer!

Maybelline Brow Satin

Maybelline Brow Satin

Now lovelies.. I only recently got into doing my brows recently .. and cannot believe I was missing this step out in my make up routine! I used to use a Rimmel one.. but I actually found that the shade was too dark for my brows.. and made me look like I had a permanent scowl HA! So.. with Maybelline doing a fab offer.. I thought I may as well pick up this product.

Review♥:

I love that this product is like two products in one.. it has the brow pencil (which is actually gel) on one end, then a sponge tip which has some powder in on the other! I got the dark brown shade (see above!)… as I much prefer a full, natural brow, rather than a sharp one! If you prefer a more dramatic brow, you may not like this product.. however I think it is GREAT for daytime use. I use small strokes to apply it on my brows, then use the sponge to blend the product in. The finished result it beautiful, natural, full looking brows. I find this product SO easy to use… my brows literally will take me 2 minutes to do with this.. and I am still a newbie! If you are after a product that will fill in your brows naturally and is easy to use.. I definitely recommend this one lovelies! I also used it for my registry wedding, and applied slightly more of the pencil to give myself a more dramatic look! I am not sure how this would work for girlies who have thinner brows.. mine are naturally quite thick, so just need filling in and darkening… so if yours are similar.. I suggest you go out NOW and pick this up!

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Make-Up Locking Setting Spray

Maybelline Spray

WOW.. that is quite a mouthful (try saying it ha!)… As soon as I saw this I knew I HAD to have it!! Maybelline had an amazing offer on where you could buy one product and get another half price.. so after picking up the Brow Satin.. I put this in my basket too! Now.. if you do not already know.. I am such a MASSIVE fan of any finishing/setting spray. If you have read my previous blog post HERE .. you will know I found a dupe for the Mac Fix+ spray (in the form of THIS Boots Botanics spray) .. I talk about it more in my post.. so have a read! Seeing this Maybelline setting spray instantly reminded me of the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray… and with my registration coming up I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test it’s lasting power (I was an emotional wreck on that day… LOTS of crying ha!). See my review below!

Review♥:

I did my make-up at 11:30AM … and applied the setting spray. You have to give it a good shake too (I applied it as soon as I bought it without shaking it and my face felt a little sticky .. WHOOPS!). So… I did quite a few sprays.. then left it to dry! I then went off and had a lovely day .. checking my makeup every few hours. I was surprised to see everything was still looking in place.. despite me crying whilst giving my vows! It got to around 9PM.. and I had a good look in the mirror. Of course… I was not as fresh faced as I was earlier on in the day but my make up still looked amazing! Usually, my T-zone gets quite oily.. but it had remained oil free all day! I have been using this product every single day since, and I find that it has definitely helped my make-up stay on for so much longer! I think this product will definitely be tested in the summer when it gets warmer/sweatier (ew I know :P).. so keep an eye out for another test of it then! But for now .. I don’t think I will go a day without using this product.. it has definitely become a staple!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette

I am normally not an eyeshadow girl, but I thought I would buy an affordable palette and give it a go for my registration wedding. I found this FABULOUS one .. the thing that I was drawn to was the cost.. IT WAS £2.99 GUYS!! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE! Have a peek below for my review..

Review♥:

Right… I decided to chose the neutral palette, rather than the smoky or golden, as I knew this would be the one I would get the most use out of. I was SO surprised at how pigmented each colour was.. they are all matte (I am NOT  fan of shimmery eyeshadows.. maybe because I am quite scared of them!)… and the colours are SO easy to work with for any skin tone. All I did was apply the lighter shades on my eyelid, and the darker ones to create shadows in the crease. I then used the darkest colour to line the bottom of my eyelid.. and finished off the look with winged eyeliner and mascara. I LOVED the lovely, natural look it gave.. and was also quite impressed with the lasting power of the eyeshadows… I didn’t even use a primer (PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE THOUGH!). I think this is a great everyday, affordable palette .. especially for those who do not wear eyeshadow that often! I LOVED having all the colours in one palette.. very convenient! I adore the Collection 2000 products.. I also purchased the 24hr eyeliner which I have raved about on my blog SO much.. (quick review below too!). Definitely worth a try girlies.. you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality!

Collection 2000 24 HR Extreme Felt Tip Liner

Collection 2000 24 hour Felt Tip Liner

This is my GO TO liquid liner .. one of the BEST I  have ever tried! I have re-purchased it over and over again.. and also recommend it to EVERYONE I know.

Review♥:

First thing I love about this product.. the EASE of using it. It is a felt tip.. so there is no pot to dip anything in, no separate brush.. everything is just in one handy little pen! Next … the cost. It is £2.99. Yep you read that right… TWO POUNDS NINETY NINE PENCE! If that alone does not convince you to buy it .. I do not know what will. Now.. the general product itself.. no eyeliner lasts longer on my eyes than this. I have slept with this eyeliner on and I wake up with it still intact! It does not run throughout the day.. my wing stays perfect and doesn’t start to fade as the day goes on… GO OUT AND BUY THIS PRODUCT.. I know you will love it! I am the WORST at applying winged eyeliner.. but I am now able to do it within minutes thanks to this baby! It stayed put whilst I cried like a baby .. nothing worse than smudged eyeliner!!

So lovelies…. that was my little beauty haul and review!! I hope you give some of these products a go angels … I am so sure you will LOVE them all just as much as I do!!

All things

HAD to sneak my adorable phone case in my photo too… It is from Coconut Lane.. and you can still get 20% off everything using my code “glitterglass20” 😛

Anyway.. make sure you stay tuned on my blog .. I have a What’s In My Bag post planned .. as well as some outfit posts later this weekend!! WOOOOP… Lets get back into the fashion swing of things!!

Have a fabulous day beautifuls … and I will catch you in my next post!!

Lots of Love

Christmas Beauty/Fashion Essentials♥

Hiya my angels!♥♥

How have you all been?!! Are you all feeling festive yet? Can you believe it is Christmas on Friday (??!!!). Although I do not specifically celebrate Christmas, I LOVE getting into the festive spirit, buying Christmassy decor and watching festive movies. We always have a family meal on Christmas day too! I am also glad to be having a few extra days off work, giving me plenty of time to relax and watch lots of movies/eat lots of treats :P.

Anyway, yesterday and today I was actually working in store – with it being the busy festive period, everyone in the office was required to offer support for a few days in their local store! I enjoyed it but it was VERY tiring – I give SO much credit to people who work in Retail, especially during Christmas! I have not done a 8 hour shift standing up in YEARS, and my feet were KILLING! Anyways – it’s back to the office tomorrow!

So my lovelies… hope you have been well! With it being almost Christmas, I wanted to put up a post of my Christmas essentials – both beauty and fashion. Be prepared to see lots of red lipsticks and fur (hehe!). These are the pieces that I don’t think I could have been without this December… and I noticed they also have a very Christmassy theme to them!

SAM_2890

Should we have a quick overview of these festive goodies first lovelies? I have …. A STUNNING bag with a faux fur panel from LYDC London* (which I think is sold out! I cannot see it on the site, but they have SO MANY MORE!) … a gorgeous furry jumper from George at Asda, Rimmel lipstick in 01, Clinique’s lipstick in Cherry Pop, No 7 Highlighter and Bronzer, Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Butter, OPI, 17 & Rimmel nail polishes, So White Bath Bomb, Nivea Lip Butter, Boots Botanics Rose face spritz & a tartan scarf! Phew … don’t think I realized how much stuff there was ha! ♥

SAM_2891

Fluffy Christmas Jumpers♥

Now this STUNNING jumper is actually from George at Asda .. I APPLAUDE Asda on their Christmas jumpers this year … they are AMAZING and their is also such a huge variety!! I LOVE this “Let It Snow” one .. it is fuzzy too .. which I ADORE, and I know you all know how much I love my fuzzy jumpers! I love jumpers like this throughout the whole of winter…. but festive ones are a MUST in December! ♥SAM_2893

Red & White Nail Polishes♥

I don’t think ANYONE should go through December without having red, glittery nails at least ONCE! I have the perfect one from OPI called Off With Her Red! – which I think is limited edition .. eeek! But I am sure you can find a good alternative … I recommend Barry M…. they have an amazing selection and are so affordable, but the quality is AMAZING! I also have a Seventeen nail polish in red, which is an absolute BARGAIN at £1 – they also last pretty well… mine started to chip after 2 days.. which is GREAT considering the price! The white nail polish is from Rimmel in the shade London Clouds – and this looks stunning on with some glitter over the top .. SO FESTIVE… IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW GUYS!!! Any red/white/glitter nail polish is ESSENTIAL for Christmas lovelies !

SAM_2896

Highlighters!♥

No 7 Highlighting & Bronzer Shimmer Palette

Now I actually got these in a limited addition gift set last Christmas, but No 7 have them online, and they are SO AFFORDABLE! I LOVE both of these palettes SO much! I LOVE highlighter so so much during the festive season… and this palette is SO stunning .. I use the lightest shade on my cheekbones, on my brow bone and down the bridge of my nose – it gives the most beautiful sheen EVER! It has subtle glitter and not HUGE bits which I DO NOT like. The bronzer is also the same … I love using both these palettes when I am rocking a red lip and winged liner … I think it looks SO Christmassy! ♥SAM_2897

The PERFECT bag♥

My essential bag for Christmas time has been this baby from LYDC* which I have featured in me previous post HERE. The reason I ADORE this is because it has FAUX FUR on it .. which I think is an essential at this time of year! It is also the perfect size for going Christmas shopping, as well as all those Christmas parties you’ll be going to! Make sure you check out the bags from LYDC .. they have a great range of day and night bags – and you can get 10% off using the code ‘SAIRA10’…. Have a peek here angels!! ♥

SAM_2910

WINTER RED LIPSTICKS ♥

Ohhhh… I think we ALL know red lips are probably the most festive things EVER! My ESSENTIALS have been Kate Moss by Rimmel in 01 (the most stunning deep red EVER!) – the quality of this lipstick is AMAZING, considering the cost of it! I could not recommend it ENOUGH loves! The next is Clinique’s lipstick in Cherry Pop, which was actually a gift in Glamour magazine – it is a definite favourite of mine! It is lighter and glossier than the Rimmel one, but just as beautiful! If you are after something more berry toned and natural (maybe for work/school).. the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in Everlasting Mauve IS PERFECT – they are a felt tip with a lip balm on the other end. This lip tint gives a very natural tint to the tips, but unfortunately doesn’t last as long as the lipsticks! I love it just for a nice, natural colour on the lips, but make sure I carry it in my bag to reapply! I couldn’t find these online – so it may  be best to have a look in Boots or Superdrug. The Revlon Colour Bursts are an EXCELLENT alternative! Also .. my Nivea Lip Butter just never EVER leaves my side … it is the BEST lip butter HANDS DOWN! ESPECIALLY THE VANILLA & MACADAMIA ONE

SAM_2903

Tartan Scarves ♥

Ahhhh WHERE would I be without this tartan scarf .. you have probably seen it in SO many of my fashions posts … It is definitely a massive essential for me … I think it would also make a FABULOUS Christmas gift .. I picked mine up in Primark but you can find similar ones HERE  from New Look! ♥SAM_2904

Lush Bath Bombs♥

So White Bath Bomb♥ – I have to thank Zoella (who I am sure you all know) for introducing me to this bath bomb – I would always just walk past it in Lush! I know ALL the bath bombs are SO FESTIVE and it is so HARD to pick my favourite – but I picked this as it was white and matched my theme for this post (HA!)… BUT also because it is such a LOVELY bath bomb. It may look boring but the scent is AMAZING (it smells like sweet apples!!) and it also leaves your bath a beautiful pink colour! You have to try this bath bomb if you haven’t already! ♥SAM_2905SAM_2908

Beauty Products♥

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Butter♥I am sure you all know the obsession I have with Soap and Glory products, and Sugar Crush is definitely one of my favourite scents from there too! I adore this body butter as it is SO moisturizing, doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, is affordable AND smells gorgeous. Also – you get SO much in the tub … so it will last you through the whole of the month (well.. probably longer … as I use SO much body butter!).

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz – this is SO good for making your skin feeling more awake during those dark mornings/evenings, and for giving your skin a quick refresh after sitting in an office with central heating all day! You can read a more in depth review of it HERE and also purchase it HERE

Ahhhh … this post has me feeling SO FESTIVE! What about you lovelies? I would love to know what your essential beauty products/fashion pieces are for Christmas time … let me know loves! If you want to check out my other festive post on how to have a GREAT CHRISTMASSY AFTERNOON (which would be a PERFECT Christmas Eve) .. have a look HERE!

I really hope you enjoyed this post my loves … do you also love reds/whites at Christmas time? What have been your fave fashion/beauty pieces?

Hope you all have a FAB week! See you in my next post angels!

Lots of Love,

How are you all? Hope you have all had a FAB week … I will be honest, I have not had the best(update in my next post though loves!). I just want to say how thankful I am for everything I have and what I have been given … Make sure you make the most of your time with loved ones, don’t hold grudges, and if you are missing someone … CONTACT THEM! Wow… I don’t think I have gotten this serious in my posts before .. I guess I am getting more comfortable with you all my loves! I really do class you all as my friends… you are so sweet and mean a lot to me!

Anyways … I am so so excited to put a fashion post up .. it has been quite a while since my last one! I am loving having a variety of posts on my blog though… we were discussing branding in a Twitter chat recently.. and although I don’t have a specific “brand” .. my main aims are to inspire other girls in dressing modestly yet being fashionable, make-up/DIY tips, and how to have a positive lifestyle! I would love to know what you guys think of my blog, what your favourite types of posts are, and if there is anything you want me to write about!

RIGHT STOP RAMBLING SAIRA … onto the outfits!

So… I actually was contacted by the LOVELY Chloe at LYDC London after taking part in the #FBLchat on Twitter. They kindly gifted me (EEEEK!) one of their bags* (that I got to choose …tehehehe), and wanted me to show how it could be styled for day and night! Now, whether I am going out during the day, or for an evening out, I usually ALWAYS carry a big bag. This is because I like to carry so much in my bags.. BECAUSE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN RIGHT.. I like to be prepared :).

IMG_7208

What a beauty 😛 :D♥

So I’ll tell you a little more about the bag before showing you how I styled it! I chose a black bag (standard :P), with some gorgeous fur detail on the front! It is also that gorgeous structured/briefcase style, which is my FAVOURITE! This style of bag is SO classic and can be worn for both work and going out in the evening! I was also so HAPPY with the quality of the bag… as they are great value for money! It has one main compartment, those cute little pouches that can store your phone/lipsticks/other random stuff you don’t need, and a large pocket at the front! It also comes with a long strap so you can wear cross-body too! I think this bag would be great for University and work.. as well as those evenings out where you want a classic bag that will go with more or less everything!

So my darlings.. let’s see how I styled this bag during the day!♥

Day♥

I think this would be the perfect look for University, or even a day out shopping! I think the button up shirt and the furry gilet give it a very comfortable look! I have also added the long strap and shown how you can wear it cross body (which I DEFINITELY prefer :D). This really gives it more of a laid-back vibe! I also wore my usual winged eyeliner, and Makeup Revolutions lipstick in “Rebel with Case” .. It is a gorgeous berry shade.. perfect for everyday! What do you guys think? 😀

After a quick outfit change (and slightly more make-up.. hehehe) here is how I styled the bag for an evening out (Let’s just pretend I was actually going out in the evening guys, hehe :D).

I added darker colours to my outfit, red lips, and also got rid of the strap on the bag! I normally like to stick to quite classic pieces when I go out (it is very unlikely that you will see me in a lot of glitter/bright colours)… so having a very classic bag just fits my style perfectly! LYDC definitely have an amazing range of classic bags, as well as more modern styles (I am LUSTING after their faux fur rucksack!).

So that is how I would transition this bag from day to night! I LOVED this post so much … because I am the type of girl who HATES swapping over her bags, so having a bag that I can take from a shopping trip to dinner in the evening is ALWAYS a win! You all know how much I love my outfit posts too loves :P. The style of the bag is so beautiful, and the faux fur design on the front really adds a stunning touch! I WAS SO HAPPY WITH IT ♥

LYDC London have such an amazing collection for Autumn/Winter 2015 (I have also seen on Twitter that they have had a peek of their A/W 2016 range .. JEALOUS!). They really do have something for everyone, whatever your style! Whether you like huge bags like me, small cross body bags, rucksacks or clutches.. I am so sure you will find something you love. Have a peek at their site: http://www.lydc.co.uk/… see if you can squeeze in a gift for someone (or yourself) before Christmas!

Do let me know if you find something you love! If you need some ideas, check out my Wishlist post HERE. You can also get 10% off anything using the code “SAIRA10” … because they are just the NICEST GIRLS EVER!♥

I hope you liked this post my lovelies (you got two outfits in one muhaha!)… It definitely was hectic getting in two sets of outfit photos, one after the other (as I was trying to beat the upcoming rain AND get good lighting.. oh the struggles!). Fashion posts are definitely one of my FAVOURITES to do… and I really hope you like them darlings!

Right dolls… hope you all have a wonderful evening …. I am catching up on The Apprentice, and then will be snuggling into bed! I literally cannot WAIT for a few extra days off at Christmas time. I will catch you in my next post! Make sure you follow my Twitter/Instagram so you stay up to date!

LYDC London: My Wishlist♥

Evening my lovely ladies!

How has your week been? Hope you have had an excellent one so far … It is Friday tomorrow WOOP WOOP! This week has been VERY tiring .. I literally feel as though I need a whole weekend to just SLEEP and catch up. I usually go to bed around midnight – 1AM (I know eeek!), and then I am up again at 6:45AM for work! I know guys, I need to get some more sleep. I am very weird though .. I don’t like to sleep in on the weekends because I feel like I am wasting time … I usually wake up around 7:00-7:30AM on weekends and cannot get back to sleep! Oh well.. all that extra time can go towards blogging right 😛

Anyways my loves… I have an exciting post for you today .. It is a WISHLIST! This is actually my first one EVER on my blog (although I will be putting up a Christmas wishlist/gift guide very soon!)… I have been loving looking online and picking things to go on my “wishlists”. I think they are great posts as it gives other bloggers an insight into your style, as well as showing what certain shops/online sites have on offer!

I have a wishlist for.. bags!! All these bags are from LYDC London* .. And I have picked quite a few styles! LYDC have a huge variety of bags for all ages (I LOVE how they display their bags on their home page for different age groups.. so adorable!). They also have bags for evenings out, as well as for work. Now lovelies… if you read my blog you will know that I LOVE my over-sized bags, even for going out in the evening.. therefore you will see a lot of big bags!

Take a peek at my picks below lovelies 🙂

Colour Contrast Cross Body Navy and White

Cross Body Bag in Navy and White – This is probably the smallest I will go with bags (I am not very good at clutch bags – they always end up looking stuffed ha!). I LOVE cross body bags so much, and this colour block style is SO on trend and will look great with any outfit – although you girls know I love my black clothes :P. Bags like this are so great for shopping days and evenings out!Colour Contrast Shoulder Bag Grey

Colour Contrast Shoulder Bag in Grey – This bag is BEAUTIFUL – there is something about white and grey together that just GOES – it is perfect. This bag is a great size for everyday – and will fit everything you need and MORE :P. You guys will also know I am a huge fan of any type of satchel style bag – so this one won my heart instantly 😀Colour Contrast Shoulder Bag Tote

Tote Bag in Black and Navy – There is something about tote bags – probably that they can fit SO much stuff in them ha! I love the simple detailing on this, and again it is that beautiful colour contrast style. LOVE IT! There is also something so casual about totes, I always imagine styling them with jeggings (you girlies know I do not do jeans :P), an over-sized jumper and boots 😀Faux Fur Shoulder Bag Black

Faux Fur Shoulder Bag in Black – FUR FUR FUR FUR FUR! I LOVE FUR! This bag is so stunning – there is something so glamorous about fur, and I think this style of bag is so perfect for this time of year. I don’t think there has ever been a year where fur has not been popular during Autumn/Winter. I would personally pair this bag with a black/white outfit and rock bright red/dark lips.. WHOOP!

Patent Shoulder Bag in Wine

Quilted Shoulder Bag in Wine – This bag is such a stunning colour and style! I love this duffle type of bag – again you can just shove everything in them! This bag is great for this time of year, and will look gorgeous with all the autumnal/winter outfits!

Snakeskin Cross Body Bag in Nude

Croc Skin Cross Body Bag in Nude  I love how structured this bag is – I think it gives it such a modern feel – and you can also never go wrong with a nude bag! It is also cross body so is great for the weekends/days out where you are doing a lot of walking and you do not want to be carrying a bag round all day (in your hand that is.. just swing around your shoulder and you’re good to go!).

So my angels .. there is my wishlist! I think doing posts like this are great if there is a gift that you want, and you want to hint to someone that you want it 😛 I really hope you liked the bags I picked! Let me know what you think loves!

And guess what angels! … The lovely ladies at LYDC London are giving you 10% off any purchase by using the code “SAIRA10″… aren’t they just absolute babes? So whether you want a bag from my picks, or if you want to have a look on the website http://www.lydc.co.uk/ and choose something else, definitely let me know loves! I would love to see what you pick!

I hope you enjoyed this post lovelies… I have spent my evening taking pictures for my November Faves, which will be up soon! I want to thank you all for reading, I appreciate all the lovely comments you leave me… you guys make me HAPPY!

Vampy Lips ♦

Hi my lovely angels! Happy Friday! Woo… I have the day off work today too so have a nice long weekend! Have any of you picked up any Black Friday deals? I am very tempted by so many of the online sales, such as Boohoo, Misguided and Asos… I can’t go crazy though … as I AM GETTING MY NEW CAR ON MONDAY.. so need to be wise with my spending.

Anyway … lets talk about this outfit shall we!?… This is from the weekend, where we actually had a little bit of snow (!!!).. so you will be able to see the slightest amount in these photos!

Checked shirtClose UpLayered OOTD

Now my lovelies.. some of you may actually remember this top from one of my first outfit of the days, linked HERE... I LOVE it so much. Funnily enough, this outfit is actually a direct contrast to the one from my earlier post.. I also seem to have the same pose HA! (see image below!)SAM_0824ootd

Tehehehe…. It is funny how differant it actually is … the darker lips/black trousers/layers. It just goes to show how versatile this t-shirt is and how you really can switch up the whole look by just adjusting a few bits, including your makeup.

Speaking of make-up… LOOK whose rocking a darker lip guys!! Are you proud of me? I have definitely become more confident in wearing darker lipsticks, and am building up a nice collection of them too (Have a read of my previous post here to see which ones I picked up!

Right ladies onto the actual outfit details … The t-shirt is a FIRM FAVORITE of mine, picked up from a market in the summer…I have found a link on eBay if you want to buy it though. On top of that I wore a long, sleeveless plaid shirt to add something to the outfit, and then added my over-sized blazer on top to keep warm! My favourite part of this outfit has to be the jeggings .. which I picked up from H&M for £14.99!! They are gorgeous and add so much to an outfit .. I definitely recommend them highly for all you girlies who love your black jeggings! I wore my black boots (obviously) and a black, glittery hijab.

Details:

T-shirt – Market

Plaid Shirt – Forever 21

Blazer – New Look

Jeggings – H&M

Boots – New Look

Hijab – Mum’s Wardrobe

My makeup consisted of my usual winged liner, but this time I paired it with a darker lip. I wore Rimmel 107 at first, then layered over Rimmel Dark Night Waterl-oops, which resulted in this beautiful, vampy lip! I highly recommend this combination girlies .. you will LOVE it!

Vamp OOTDVamp

So that’s my outfit details then lovelies… I love the layered, casual look it has … It also shows how versatile plain, over-sized t-shirts are! I think this outfit would also be perfect for college/university .. just pair with some Converse for an even more comfortable outfit!

Anyways .. little bit of a catch up! I have had a usual busy week at work… and am glad to have a 3 day weekend! Last weekend I actually went to the Leeds German Christmas Market .. which was amazing but SO busy! I really want to go to the Manchester one too… maybe also travel down to London for Winter Wonderland :P. I also received the cutest phone case EVER from Coconut Lane which I will feature in my next post!

In the mean time .. you can use the code glitterglass20 to get 20% off anything online!

Anyways my darlings.. that is all for today’s post .. I will see you in my next one!

Lots of love,

Saira xo♥

I Love Makeup Revolution!

Hello my lovelies!

Hope you have all had an amazing week! What have you been up to? Have you been at work/school or working from home? Whatever you have gotten up to, I hope you have enjoyed it! As usual I have been at work… I have Friday off though so WOOP for 3 day weekends! I am also working from home on Monday because MY NEW CAR IS GETTING DELIVERED! I literally CANNOT WAIT! I have never had a brand new car, and this one has all sorts of nifty features which I have never had the pleasure of having before(Sat Nav, iPod dock, HEATED SEATS!). I am so excited guys!

Anyway… this week has been busy as usual at work.. which I love!  The rest of my time has been spent blogging, relaxing and sleeping :).

So my loves, on the weekend early on Sunday, I went into town to pick up some bits. I popped into Superdrug and came across the stand for Makeup Revolution. Now.. I have seen a lot of bloggers raving about this brand, from their eyeshadow palettes to their metallic make up brushes! I was drawn to the lipsticks though .. as they were an AMAZING 1 POUND! And even better, they were on 3 for 2! I thought I would have a quick look and swatch of the lipsticks.. to be completely honest I really wasn’t expecting much from them. However I swatched them and was so surprised at how pigmented and bright they were! I thought why not buy them? I would be getting 2 lipsticks and a blusher (which was also £1) for £2…. and if I didn’t love them .. I hadn’t broken the bank buying them! So off I went with 2 lipsticks and a blusher in hand, not really expecting much.

Wow… was I wrong.

LipstickI will start from the beginning… I am absolutely loving dark lips for winter, so I tried the darker one first. It looked almost BLACK on my lips .. to be fair I was slightly disheartened because it looked so beautiful swatched on my hand. However, I did a little bit of experimenting. I tried this lipstick on top of my Rimmel 107 .. and oh my goodness. It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL SHADE! It is so vampy and perfect for autumn! It actually remained that colour for a few HOURS!! I thought because they have a slight sheen, it wouldn’t last very long.. but this little baby has some excellent staying power!! I also LOVE the name (100% Vamp). You cannot go wrong at £1… I will definitely be going back to get some more.. they are AMAZING! The other colour I got was “Rebel with Cause”.. Now this one I LOVED straight away .. the colour looks absolutely stunning on the lips (on its own)! It is quite a purple/maroon shade … although it does look quite pinky in the photos! It also lasted for hours on my lips, did not dry them at ALL, and was so creamy! Highly recommend them girlies!

Lippies

Left: 100% Vamp                                                                  Right: Rebel With Cause

   Middle: Blusher in WOW

Both lipsticks also have a beautiful sweet, almost vanilla scent, which is lovely .. as so many cheaper lipsticks have that waxy “cheap lippie” smell which I DO NOT like! I am a fan of the packaging ..It is quite sleek and simple.. also you get slightly more product in the small lid on the top too, which is a cute touch!

Overall .. my thoughts on the lipstick are very positive. They are long lasting, feel great on the lips and smell amazing too! I am trying to think of a negative but I really cannot! I guess the only thing is that I was expecting “100% Vamp” to be a really nice vampy, dark purple on it’s own, however it ended up looking VERY dark. It’s all good though.. As it looks stunning over 107 .. definitely a beautiful combination which you girlies MUST try! The biggest plus is that were a POUND.. I don’t think I will ever get over this!

Swatches

Here are the swatches.. so you can see how pigmented they are… definitely worth a try!

I also picked up one of their blushers.. as I am a HUGE blush lover .. and this little baby also cost me a WHOLE POUND TOO! It was in the colour WOW, and is a beautiful soft pink shade! It is very pigmented and adds such a lovely flush to the skin .. like the one you have when you have been outside in the cold for a while (perfect for this time of year!) The only downside is the packaging felt slightly weak .. but I guess that is because of the cost of the blusher itself! It really is such good value for money though.. As I have tried other cheaper blushers which are not pigmented at ALL! This is a definite in your make up bag.. especially all you guys who love bargains!

So guys … do definitely check out Make Up Revolution’s line of make up … they are excellent value for money and I have LOVED the products I have tried so far. I will be going back to pick up more lipsticks, as well as seeing other products in their line. I WILL BE BUYING THEIR MAKE UP BRUSHES TOO .. They are STUNNING.. Nothing better than rose gold brushes :P.

Check them out on here .. They have some GREAT Black Friday deals too!

Anyways my lovelies.. that is my post for the day! I hope you enjoyed it .. I am definitely enjoying doing more makeup/beauty related posts… As I want my blog to have a variety! I hope you are enjoying them too … Do let me know girlies!

I just want to thank all you lovely babes who leave me comments/follow my blog/Instagram/Twitter/Blog Lovin … You lot make me smile *hugs*. I am so happy that I started blogging, and it is so exciting to see my little blog growing every day.. I just WISH I was able to spend MORE time on it.. I guess there are never enough hours in the day ey?

So.. I am going to stop rambling angels. Hope you enjoyed this post.. and see you in my next one!

Lots of Love,

Guide to: Surviving Christmas Shopping!

Hey darlings♥♥!

Hope you have all had an excellent week… It is the weekend too woo! Now, I have seen so many people start to put Christmas posts up… come on guys it is mid-November now so I think it is acceptable! Now, I know many of you may be thinking about Christmas shopping (and some of you organised lot may have started!)… I thought I would give you all some tips on how you can make Christmas shopping a fun, (almost) stress-free day (or days!) out…. It should be enjoyable right?!

SAM_2313

  1. Make a list beforehand: I am the biggest fan of making lists, as they really help you stay organised.. and when it comes to Christmas shopping, they will be a saviour! It is also best to make a list of everyone you are buying gifts for, and what you plan on getting them. That way, you can make sure you do not leave anyone’s gift to the last minute! I think it is an excellent idea to have a “Christmas Diary”, that way you can plan what days you are doing Christmas shopping, and make any other lists/notes you may need .. rather than writing it on scrappy bits of paper/typing on your phone.
  2. Plan your trip: You should put aside a weekend/few days to get your shopping done, so you can get a lot done in one go. I think it is still fun to pop into town for some last minute bits closer to Christmas, but knowing that you have already done the majority of your shopping will make it even more fun! Also, if you work full-time (like me), it may be worth taking a few days off work so you can go during the week.. as I am sure everyone knows weekends are always busier!
  3. GO EARLY!!: I literally cannot stress this enough .. make sure you go early! Especially if you go during the week, the earlier you go the better. The shops will be lovely and organised, as well as it not being as busy! After you are all shopped out, you still have the rest of the day to relax/wrap presents!
  4. Make sure you go to a DECENT shopping centre: This is also so important. It is worth travelling out if there is not a good shopping centre near you, as it is good having a variety of shops to visit. This also saves you having to make multiple trips! I know this from first hand experience .. The main shopping centre near me is RUBBISH! I always go to either Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield for a good shopping trip.. there is SO much more variety, the shops are bigger, and there are also cute individual shops where can find something special!
  5. Go alone: This is vital for at least your main Christmas shop.. It means you can visit the shops YOU need to, take all the time YOU need, and not have to worry about what kids/friends/family want to do or where they want to go. If you do want to make a day of it with a friend/family member, you can travel together, shop for a few hours on your own, have lunch together, then do a few more hours alone, and then meet up after!
  6. Buy heavier/biggest items last/online: Now I think this is a no brainer, not just for Christmas shopping but also normal shopping trips. Buy your bigger/bulkier/heavier gifts last, so you are not battling with them on your way through the shops! Even better, buy them online, or reserve them so you are able to pick them up at a certain time! Christmas shopping is supposed to be FUN, not a sweaty work out! 😛
  7. Buy yourself a treat after!: After you have trawled round the shops for HOURS, carried so many bags that your arms feel like they are going to fall off, it is always nice to have a treat after! So my advice is to pick a little something up for yourself whilst shopping … you deserve it! Whether that is a candle (that you can burn whilst wrapping presents), some bath bombs/bubble bars, or some good old chocolate… go on… you know you want to!
  8. Remember.. ENJOY IT!: Enjoy the Christmas lights/decorations, the atmosphere, and the yummy Christmas treats everywhere! Try not to leave everything to the last minute, and make a day of it! So lovelies, be up nice and early, wear your comfiest shoes, make sure you have your Christmas gift guide all ready, play Christmas songs on the way to the shops .. and HAVE FUN CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
  9. If all else fails.. there is always online: If you do not like the thought of shopping at all (really?)… you can always shop online!

Happy Shopping!

So there we have it darlings … your guide to stress-free (hopefully!) Christmas shopping! I hope this will help lots of you ready to venture out to the shops to buy your presents! I will see you in my next post!

Lots of Love,

Saira xo
