How to make: Spicy Noodles (Yummy!)

048

Afternoon lovelies!

I made these noodles yesterday after a request from my husband, who was craving the donner kebab pot noodles (Who remembers these, and why on earth did they stop them!?!) So, I searched google but had no luck finding “donner” flavoured noodles, so thought I would experiment myself with a few ingredients.. And came up with these! They actually turned out so much yummier than I thought, and all the plates were emptied (woop :D). Also, it is very unusual for me and my family to eat any meal without some sort of chicken/lamb, but none was used for this dish, so it would be perfect for those who don’t eat meat! Now.. the dish is on the the spicy side (Ok.. on the VERY spicy side), which we all love (although my sister could JUST about handle it.. she can’t handle spice as well as the rest of us :P), but it can definitely be adjusted based on everybody’s tastes. Also, I used 6 portions of egg noodles, and it fed 7 of us.. So depending on how much you would be eating, 1 noodle portion should be fine for each person. Right… that’s enough talking.. onto how to make the noodles πŸ™‚

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 green & 1 yellow pepper
  • 5 spring onions
  • 1/2 a lime
  • 3 gloves of garlic
  • Small amount of ginger
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons of hot pepper sauce (you can adjust to your liking)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of salt, black pepper, ground cumin, garlic powder, ground coriander & chilli powder
  • 1 cup chicken stock (optional .. you can use water if preferred)
  • 6 portions of egg noodles
  • small amount of fresh coriander (to garnish) & half a lime (garnishing again) – optional – but it makes it look pretty πŸ™‚

This will feed 7-8 people, but the recipe can be amended based on how many people you are cooking for πŸ™‚

Steps

Chop the spring onions and peppers, and grate the ginger and garlic. Also, put the noodles in a pan with some water and let these boil (They only take about 5 minutes once the water is boiling, so once they are done, just drain and put to the side until we are ready to use them.

Put the sesame oil into a wok on medium heat, and throw the spring onions in. After a few minutes stir frying the onions, add the garlic and ginger038 039

After a few minutes of stir frying these, add the tin of chopped tomatoes and stir well. 040

Add all the spices, hot sauce, soy sauce and lime, and stir well. Then, add in the peppers041

After this, add the noodles (I added some more of the spices/sauces used, to add to the flavour, but this is optional.042

Give everything a very good stir, and then add the chicken stock. Then, garnish with fresh coriander and limes, and serve in a cute dish!Β 048

I served with garlic bread and some baguettes (as there was some sauce with the noodles), but you can serve with whatever you fancy πŸ™‚

And there you have it! My first recipe, I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as we all did! I will definitely be making this again with chicken (I may also try it with prawns which I think will be delicious!)

Thanks for reading sweeties .. I am now going to iron my clothes for work tomorrow (Although I will only be at work for 2 days.. woop πŸ™‚ ). Have a good Sunday loves πŸ˜€
