Feeling Under The Weather?

Hey guys *waves*

Already 2 weeks into the new year! Can you believe it!? And you’ll never guess what I did for the first week? Well.. if you follow my twitter you’ll know .. but I spent the whole week bunged up, coughing non-stop and with a constant headache. Yep.. the joys.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So… first day back at work I was drugged up with Day Nurse hoping I could soldier through. Funnily enough, 2 other girls at work were just as poorly too so ended up going home before me! By about 11am.. I could barely concentrate so KNEW I had to go home! I spent 2 whole days off work … in which I did all the things to make me feel better… and thought hey, it would be fun to make a list of all the things you can do to make yourself feel better too! I know (from Twitter) that SO many people are still poorly too (hope you  feel better soon babes!).. so I hope this post can help you!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Get into your comfiest clothes

This was literally the first thing I did as soon as I got home (despite me wanting to just crawl into bed!). I got into my comfiest pj’s, hubby’s oversized t-shirt & shoved my hair up. PERFECT. If you spend sick days in any other attire … you are doing it WRONG.

Stay Hydrated

Probably one of the most IMPORTANT (but probably boring) things you have to do .. it is so important to keep a bottle of water next to you and drink crap loads (more than you normally would). It definitely helped me as I was sweating all day (TMI I know) and it just meant I didn’t get dehydrated !

Use A Sheet Mask

I LOVED using these so much whilst I was poorly… because they are lovely and cool, they really help soothe your skin and head! They obviously help brighten up your skin too which probably is looking dead thanks to your illness! If you don’t have a sheet mask.. you can use a cold flannel (works just as well TBH).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

 Have simple, ‘comforting’ meals

This might sound a bit odd .. but when you are ill you probably don’t have much of an appetite. For me.. I could barely taste/smell anything which can be SO annoying and really put you off having any food. Having things like soup/bread are quick & easy… and they really do just warm you up and make you feel better! Chicken soup has magical healing powers, seriously. Also .. chocolate when you’re ill is never a bad idea (hehe).

Have a Bath

At first .. I thought what even is the point in having a bath.. I’d feel like I was wasting my bath bombs as I wouldn’t be able to smell them.. BUT when your muscles are aching so MUCH, there is nothing better than going for a soak. I used a bubble bar and the Snow Angel bath melt which made my bath so ‘soft’ (if that makes sense ha). A few drops of essential oils would be amazing too .. but I just love my Lush stuff too much, lol. Honestly .. I felt so much better after my bath, so make sure you jump in your tub if you’re poorly with achy muscles.

Get Plenty of Rest

You’re ill, the first thing you need is plenty of rest. I know you’re probably feeling crap because you have to miss work, but your body needs you to rest up, so sleep in, stay comfy with your blankets all day and don’t feel guilty. Trust me.. I tried to stay at work and battle it but I NEEDED rest. Chill out, catch up on some Netflix (when you’re not resting) and only focus on getting yourself better.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There you go guys … a few tips to help you when you’re feeling under the weather ! My cold has JUST about cleared up, and if you have been ill too I hope you are on the mend!

Have a fab Sunday guys … and I will see you all in my next post!

Lots of love,

Saira

How I Style: Blanket Scarves

Hey hey!

How is it so close to Christmas ?! I can’t even believe how quick December is passing by … this year is almost over! I’ve already had my Christmas do at work, and have a few days at work before some time off! Honestly .. I’ve been enjoying my new job so much but my goodness do I need a break!

Anyway.. Winter is my favourite season (after Autumn that is)… I just love everything about it! I did a whole post if you want to know WHY I love it so much .. which you can check out here ! Anyway .. the fashion is one of the main reasons I love it!

Now … there are so many different fashion items this winter that I’ve been obsessed with (I’m planning a whole post on it actually!)… BUT there is one specific thing that I’ve not been able to be without, and honestly if you do not have one of these, you are missing out! They have been everywhere this season, and you can pick up so many different colours & styles.. and they are definitely an essential item. It is of course … blanket scarves!

I have been so so obsessed with blanket scarves this year.. they are so easy to style up and instantly make you feel so cosy! There are so many ways to style it.. but I’ve been sticking to a regular way which has become my go to outfit on cold, winter-y days!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This little beauty is from Primark .. WHO FYI have some gorgeous scarves.. and they are less then a tenner (!). My fave way to style then has just been draped over this beautiful ‘coatigan’ from Zara (which is a mix between a coat & a cardigan… it’s a word guys!). I feel SO cosy and warm.. and of course greys & blacks just go with everything!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The boots are little stunners from Primark.. and honestly guys I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them! The quality is insane and they are SUCH a staple! I’ve noticed myself wearing them so much too… definitely pick them up if you spot them! I adore the detail of the zip on the side and the slight hint of snakeskin… they are definitely perfect for everyday :).

So many of you will know that winter is my all time favourite season for fashion … just because I find it so effortless .. it’s all about layering and feeling comfy! This is why I think blanket scarves are perfect … all I do before heading out the door is drape one of them over my shoulders, or wrap around my neck and I am GOOD TO GO!

Coat: Zara
Scarf: Primark
Bag: LYDC
Boots: Primark

The whole point of this post (besides experimenting with my new camera & outfit pics!)… you NEED a blanket scarf this Winter. Get one 🙂

Have an amazing weekend guys.. I am going to be spending mine making a gingerbread house, doing some shopping and getting inspiration for re-decorating my room! Sending you lots of love!

Essential Winter Blog Props

Hey there !

Remember me? It’s been a while hasn’t it! Apologies about the MASSIVE break in my posts … I’ve just felt so uninspired recently which is very unlike me… especially at this time of year when there is so much festive inspo flying around ! I’ve just been SO out of the loop… BUT I am glad to be sat down writing up a post for you all.

So.. how have you all been? I’ve just been SO busy settling into my new job and trying to get back into the swing of blogging. If you didn’t already know.. I recently brought the ever so dreamy Olympus Pen camera.. which of course meant that I spent the majority of my weekend having the biggest blog photo session ever. I also spent my Saturday morning trawling the shops looking for some winter blog props… and then I thought to myself that would be such a fab idea for a post!

Now.. blog props for me are something that is so essential if you really want to up your photo game .. they just make your photos look so much more interesting and you can really show your personality through them too! So guys .. I have a whole load of things that you can go out and find that will make your photos look perfect for winter and also add that special festive touch!

Blankets

We all know blankets are an essential when it comes to winter time (who doesn’t love to snuggle in one after a long day!).. so why not incorporate that into your blog too? I find grey, white or cream blankets are perfect for this time of year to use as a backdrop and just to add some “texture” to your photos (if that makes sense!). Mine is actually a £4 one from Primark… but you can definitely go all out and pick up a fluffy one too. I think they look adorable and give a real cosy vibe to your pictures!

Fairy Lights

What even was my life without fairy lights? I can’t believe that I ever used to take photos without fairy lights! They instantly make your photos look amazing and so so cosy! I picked up some adorable red ones from Home Bargains and they are SO festive! They also jingle .. but that wouldn’t be very effective in a blogpost, ha. Seriously though, get yourself some… they really make all the difference.

Candles

Ahhhh candles. I’m obsessed with candles anyway so it was only obvious I picked up some wintery ones to go in my photos. Check out Home Bargains or B&M for some adorable, festive ones… and they can work either lit or just as a prop in a flatlay… either way looks faaaaabulous. Also .. HOW CUTE is the one shaped like a Christmas tree! I doubt I will ever actually burn it because I don’t want to ruin the beautiful shape it has.. but it definitely looks adorable in the background.

Mugs

I’ve become a little bit obsessed with mugs recently and thought they would look so cute as props! I feel like they add such a homey, comfortable feel to your photos, and there are so many festive ones that just add something special to your photos! The Christmassy one is from Home Bargains, and the kitten one (although not vey festive by frickin’ adorable) is from the Velvet Ghost range in Primark by the stunning Gabby… and when I saw it was only £2… I HAD to have it.

Zoella Range

Let’s be honest guys… all of the Zoella beauty/lifestyle range is absolutely beautiful and SO instagrammable! I am in LOVE with the gingerbread body mist/cream… and they look so adorable as props, especially as they are SO festive. In fact, any perfume bottle can be added to your photos and look gorgeous!

Pinecones/Berries/Wreaths & Room Sprays

All of the above just scream Christmas & winter to me.. and adding them to your photos instantly makes them look SO winter ready. They are so affordable yet add so much to your images .. definitely worth picking up! I got my mini wreath thing from Home Bargains & the pinecones are from some old pot pourri.. which I am so sure you’ll have lying around somewhere!

There is something so beautiful about room spray bottles .. and this one from Home Bargains caught my eye as it was so classic yet perfect for winter time! Added bonus … it smells absolutely divine!

Candy Canes

I am OBSESSED with candy canes.. and they literally add the most beautiful pop of colour to an all white, winter-y photo! I love seeing these little gems pop up in the shops, and as soon as I saw them, I knew they would be perfect for photos! They are so so affordable too… and it means you have a little treat to have after you’ve had your photo taking session!

So guys… they are the few items I have picked up that I think will make my photos look so festive and perfect for winter! It definitely is worth picking up a few bits.. I find they really help me enjoy taking photos even more! You can get as creative as you want… and even make your own Winter props too! Pinterest is your best friend for this 🙂

I’m going to be off now… hope you enjoy the rest of your week! I am in the midst of editing a weekly vlog so I am hoping to get the up this weekend!! Fingers crossed for me to actually upload a video this time ha!

Lots of love,

Saira

Why Winter Is The Best Season EVER

Why I LOVE Winter Time … (and you know you do too!)

Hey there…

It’s come to that time of year guys … Halloween and Bonfire Night have passed (just about!), the clocks have gone forward, and we are all dealing with darkness approaching by about 4pm. The days are starting to feel nippy, and all we keep hearing in the news is ‘be prepared for the COLDEST WINTER IN DECADES’. Although let’s be fair – Yorkshire has already had its first snowfall of the season – so it may happen. I know so many of you are probably thinking why the HELL can we not go back to Summer time.. I’ve seen quite a few tweets of people already getting fed up of the colder weather, even though we probably have a good few months of it yet!

Now… I am definitely a colder weather girlie .. I LOVE the Autumn/Winter time for SO many different reasons! I thought it would be fun to list down why I love the colder months so much.. and maybe cheer up some of you who HATE winter time!

Lush baths become more bearable AND enjoyable

During summer… most of us prefer to have a quick shower as the thought of sitting in a hot bath for half an hour seems like an absolute chore… but when the days get colder (A LOT COLDER) and darker, there is nothing better than lighting some candles, getting a face mask on and settling down in a relaxing bath with your favourite book – absolute bliss!

Shaving your legs = Doesn’t happen for the next few months

Lets be honest here guys, not many of us bother with it in the winter time. Nobody sees them..and it provides some extra warmth right? So pack up your razors for the winter ladies and don’t worry about those razor cuts on your ankles for a while!

The feel of a hot drink in your hands

You’ve been out in the cold for SO long and you finally settle down with a brew… and warming up your hands with a hot drink is literally the best feeling EVER

Speaking of hot drinks – The festive drinks menu is back!

Guys … have you SEEN the Costa cups and drinks menu?! I am definitely a Costa girl over Starbucks.. and I think they have definitely outdone themselves with their drinks this year. The only disappointment? The Lindt hot chocolate. And I KNOW most of you agree (thanks to Twitter). It is definitely my aim this year to try EVERY drink on that menu!

Winter mornings are beautiful

How stunning are foggy, frosty mornings? There is nothing better than snuggling up in your fave coat and cosy scarf and heading out for a walk (and picking up a hot drink on your way out to keep you toasty whilst strolling!).

Snow

You might love it, or you might absolutely DESPISE it.. but you’ve got to admit it is bloody beautiful right). FYI – I LOVE IT 🙂

SO MANY FESTIVITIES

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, NYE… not to mention all those extra bank holidays. WIN.

Buying New PJ’s

I don’t know about you guys but I always stock up on snuggly PJ’s … especially those Christmas ones ! I am after the most adorable tartan PJ’s in Primark … they just scream Christmas to me!

Watching ALL your fave programmes

When there is an absolute STORM going on outside and the temperature has hit below zero degrees, there is nothing better than settling down in a cozy blanket and binge watching all your favourite programmes (AND Christmas movies!)…. something that just doesn’t feel the same in the summer! I am currently working through the full series of Friends!

Extra Calories Are Allowed

It’s Christmas time, so technically you are allowed all the chocolate imaginable. AND those cosy, over-sized sweaters mean you can afford to let yourself go a little bit. You can worry about shifting those extra pounds when the new year comes around (hehe).

I could probably go on forever but they are definitely my top reasons why I love Winter. Are you a winter girl? I’d love to know the reasons why you love Winter! I am off now to have a chilled Sunday … hope you all have a good one!

Lots of Love,

Saira

Autumn Candle Collection – UNDER £10

Hey hey!

Hope you have had a fab week! Are all of you feeling autumnal yet? If not I can guarantee this post will help AND it will make you WANT to go shopping. I apologize in advance (hehe).

Now… if there is one thing that goes hand in hand… it is Autumn and candles. AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT?  There is just something about getting in after a long day, getting into your PJ’s and lighting a candle. They just make you feel calm and relaxed… and most importantly.. SO FRICKIN’ COZY. I don’t know about you… but I love having a variation of candles to pick and choose from… sometimes I am feeling a fresh, clean scent (apple scented candles are AMAZING), and sometimes I fancy something a little on the spicier side (yep.. gingerbread I am looking STRAIGHT at you). Whichever you fancy… I have a candle JUST for you. So… pack away those summery, floral, pineapple scents.. and get yourself some spicy, pinecone-y (is that even a word) autumn-y candles.

img_1677

FYI.. everything I talk about is under a tenner.. and easy to find in your local homeware shops. Thank me later.

Wickford & Co

Where: Home Bargains

How Much: £2.99

Scents I Have: Gingerbread & Apple Cinnamon

This is probably the biggest bargain I found… I actually showed them in my recent haul and I am honestly obsessed. Gingerbread is a beautiful, spicy/sweet scent and literally makes your room smell like you have just baked a batch of gingerbread men. Apple Cinnamon smells exactly like apple pie… I can imagine your room would smell like a bakery at Autumn time if burnt at the same time. If you love your foodie scents (ahem.. my fave type of candle scent).. these are perfect. They also make a nice change to the usual vanilla cupcake/cookie scents that are popular.

img_1689

img_1682

Village Candles

Where: Hallmark

How Much: £5.99 for a small jar (when on offer, usually I think they are £7)

Scents I Have: Crisp Apple & Peppermint Bark

If you want a candle that is an exact dupe of Yankee Candles… you need to get your hands on some of these guys… they are FAB! The scent of these is POWERFUL… you can definitely smell this one for hours after you have blown out the candle. Crisp apple is my fave for burning on a Saturday morning during Autumn time… I just feel like it sets the mood perfectly! Peppermint Bark is perfect for evenings when you are in your PJ’s with a hot chocolate.. feeling ALL cozy. I absolutely LOVE that about candles.. they really can help set an amazing atmosphere, whatever your mood!

img_1683

Essence Candles

Where: B&M

How Much: £2.99

Scent I Have: Brown Sugar Allspice

I desperately wanted to get more of these because they look absolutely stunning on your coffee table/dresser… but there was only one scent I liked! The jar and lid combination of this is just absolutely gorgeous (the lid is metal with leaves imprinted on it!)… It is practically a dupe of the Bath and Body Works candles! Now… I was not the biggest fan of this scent when I first tried it.. BUT it has definitely become a favourite of mine! It is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy… and just reminds me so much of a cinnamon hot chocolate! This candle is an amazing dupe for the BBW candles.. but literally at a fraction of the price! They unfortunately do not burn as evenly as the others… but the scent is just as good! I just WISH I could get my hands on more scents!

img_1686

Better Homes

Where: Home Bargains

How Much: £2.99

Scent I Have: Pomander & Pinecone

This is probably the spiciest candle of them all… and it literally makes your room smell like a forest at Autumn! I think this would make an amazing candle for your hallway.. so every single person that walks through your home gets the STUNNING scent of Autumn. The only way I can describe the scent is that potpourri that lived in a ceramic bowl when you were younger that had a mix of pinecones, dried leaves and oranges. Yum.

img_1678

SO…. these are all the candles I have picked up for Autumn.. I was so tempted to get more.. but I had to stop myself. After all, I’ll  be getting more for Christmas time right?

Thank you SO much for reading.. and let me know if you have picked up any candles for Autumn too! I’ll see you all in my next one!

Lots of Love,

Let’s Travel to: Whitby♥

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

Hope you have all had an AMAZING weekend! If you follow my Twitter/read my blog .. you will know that I actually got my marriage registered this weekend (EEEEEEK!). It really was SUCH an amazing day … and it feels weird thinking that I am now a Mrs…my little brother said I am now officially old (wonderful ha!).

The last week at work just FLEW BY! I cannot get over how quickly Friday came round! I sometimes can’t believe how fast days just pass you by .. this is why I try and make the most of each of them! This was one of the reasons we took a last minute trip to Whitby last weekend! Anyway loves .. have a read on and I ‘ll tell you all about my trip there!

RIGHT ….. so my and my family were all just sat downstairs on New Year’s day .. when my husband actually came up with the idea of going to stay in a cottage for the weekend.. it really was a pretty random and last minute trip! We searched the internet and found a few cottages that had places for the next day … and the next morning my dad received a call that a cottage in Whitby was available with enough room for 8 of us (and a baby!)… so we loaded the cars with everything we needed.. and off we went!

It took around 2 hours to get there … and the cottage itself was AMAZING! I was kicking myself that I didn’t bring more outfits so I could take pictures.. as the background was STUNNING! Anyway loves.. speaking of outfits.. I will show you what I wore on the first day!

Now… we already knew the weather would be cold/windy/rainy… so my outfits were focused on keeping warm. I ALWAYS layer like a crazy .. as well as having an umbrella on me all the time (and it DEFINITELY came on handy on this trip hehe!).

SAM_3038

So here was my outfit for the first day loves….

SAM_2995SAM_2996SAM_2998SAM_2999SAM_3003SAM_3004SAM_3008SAM_3009

You have probably seen every single piece of clothing in other OOTD’s too ha! The tartan scarf and top are both from Primark and get SO MUCH WEAR! The over-sized black blazer is New Look .. but of course you can pick these up ANYWHERE. My boots are very old, and have now become my “walking boots”… they are SO comfortable and also kept my feet dry whilst walking on the beach! Of course… to add something to the look.. I added Rimmel’s 107, as you do :P. My bag is also from LYDC London (you have all seen it before too!)… it is just amazing at fitting everything that I need in AND keeping it organized (woop!).

Saturday♥:

So on our first day ….. we settled into the cottage, then went out to pick up snacks from the local Sainsburys, which was SO handy as it was only 2 minutes down the road! We then drove down to the marina and walked around the shops, picked up some fish and chips for dinner (how could we not!!).. and then headed back to the cottage! After… we played a few games .. and then as it got past midnight, my husband suggested we go out for a drive around Whitby. Now.. I don’t know if you have ever been.. but I found there was something SO EERIE about the whole place at night. The cottage that we were staying at was in the middle of nowhere, so it was TERRIFYING to go out alone when it was dark. The roads were SO QUIET and the Abbey looked SO creepy…. I can definitely see why so many people come here at Halloween! Anyways .. after our scary drive.. we came home and fell straight asleep!

Sunday♥:

On Sunday … we all had breakfast together, before going to see all the chickens that the landowner had in his gardens! My little niece is the biggest animal lover EVER.. so she definitely enjoyed this bit! Then we cleaned the cottage, packed our things up .. and headed to the beach! The beach at this time of year was FREEZING as you can imagine… but we still had lots of fun! We then drove over the marina again and stopped to get some fresh doughnuts/waffles, and then also drove up to the Abbey (which wasn’t as creepy during the day!). After, it was time to head back home… we stopped at York on the way for some food … as we were all starving by that time!

Quick look at the outfit for Sunday .. if you notice all I actually did was change the top HA! I did pack another cardigan, but didn’t like how it looked… so I stuck to my trusty blazer! I LOVED how comfortable I felt in both these outfits..  and think that this is the most important thing when you know you’re going to be doing lots of walking outside.

SAM_3016SAM_3018SAM_3021SAM_3029SAM_3042SAM_3043SAM_3045

After stopping at York.. it took around an hour to get home.. we then unpacked, went to sleep.. and were all up for work on Monday ! PHEW … busy weekend ey!

Want a similar outfit? Check these links loves!♥

Blazer

Tartan Scarf

Oversized Tops

Boots

So lovelies.. that was my overnight stay in Whitby! I am such a HUGE lover of last minute, spontaneous trips.. they make such great memories too! I definitely recommend staying in a cottage for a few days .. it is so nice to get away from life in the city and just have a few relaxing days, especially after the busy festive period!

Soooo … what am I doing for the rest of the day?I will be spending my Sunday writing up some posts, doing my laundry and just CHILLING out in my PJ’S before work tomorrow! Hope you enjoyed this little insight into my trip angels.. and do let me know if you have ever been to Whitby!

Have a fab Sunday … and I will catch you all in my next post!

Christmas Beauty/Fashion Essentials♥

Hiya my angels!♥♥

How have you all been?!! Are you all feeling festive yet? Can you believe it is Christmas on Friday (??!!!). Although I do not specifically celebrate Christmas, I LOVE getting into the festive spirit, buying Christmassy decor and watching festive movies. We always have a family meal on Christmas day too! I am also glad to be having a few extra days off work, giving me plenty of time to relax and watch lots of movies/eat lots of treats :P.

Anyway, yesterday and today I was actually working in store – with it being the busy festive period, everyone in the office was required to offer support for a few days in their local store! I enjoyed it but it was VERY tiring – I give SO much credit to people who work in Retail, especially during Christmas! I have not done a 8 hour shift standing up in YEARS, and my feet were KILLING! Anyways – it’s back to the office tomorrow!

So my lovelies… hope you have been well! With it being almost Christmas, I wanted to put up a post of my Christmas essentials – both beauty and fashion. Be prepared to see lots of red lipsticks and fur (hehe!). These are the pieces that I don’t think I could have been without this December… and I noticed they also have a very Christmassy theme to them!

SAM_2890

Should we have a quick overview of these festive goodies first lovelies? I have …. A STUNNING bag with a faux fur panel from LYDC London* (which I think is sold out! I cannot see it on the site, but they have SO MANY MORE!) … a gorgeous furry jumper from George at Asda, Rimmel lipstick in 01, Clinique’s lipstick in Cherry Pop, No 7 Highlighter and Bronzer, Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Butter, OPI, 17 & Rimmel nail polishes, So White Bath Bomb, Nivea Lip Butter, Boots Botanics Rose face spritz & a tartan scarf! Phew … don’t think I realized how much stuff there was ha! ♥

SAM_2891

Fluffy Christmas Jumpers♥

Now this STUNNING jumper is actually from George at Asda .. I APPLAUDE Asda on their Christmas jumpers this year … they are AMAZING and their is also such a huge variety!! I LOVE this “Let It Snow” one .. it is fuzzy too .. which I ADORE, and I know you all know how much I love my fuzzy jumpers! I love jumpers like this throughout the whole of winter…. but festive ones are a MUST in December! ♥SAM_2893

Red & White Nail Polishes♥

I don’t think ANYONE should go through December without having red, glittery nails at least ONCE! I have the perfect one from OPI called Off With Her Red! – which I think is limited edition .. eeek! But I am sure you can find a good alternative … I recommend Barry M…. they have an amazing selection and are so affordable, but the quality is AMAZING! I also have a Seventeen nail polish in red, which is an absolute BARGAIN at £1 – they also last pretty well… mine started to chip after 2 days.. which is GREAT considering the price! The white nail polish is from Rimmel in the shade London Clouds – and this looks stunning on with some glitter over the top .. SO FESTIVE… IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW GUYS!!! Any red/white/glitter nail polish is ESSENTIAL for Christmas lovelies !

SAM_2896

Highlighters!♥

No 7 Highlighting & Bronzer Shimmer Palette

Now I actually got these in a limited addition gift set last Christmas, but No 7 have them online, and they are SO AFFORDABLE! I LOVE both of these palettes SO much! I LOVE highlighter so so much during the festive season… and this palette is SO stunning .. I use the lightest shade on my cheekbones, on my brow bone and down the bridge of my nose – it gives the most beautiful sheen EVER! It has subtle glitter and not HUGE bits which I DO NOT like. The bronzer is also the same … I love using both these palettes when I am rocking a red lip and winged liner … I think it looks SO Christmassy! ♥SAM_2897

The PERFECT bag♥

My essential bag for Christmas time has been this baby from LYDC* which I have featured in me previous post HERE. The reason I ADORE this is because it has FAUX FUR on it .. which I think is an essential at this time of year! It is also the perfect size for going Christmas shopping, as well as all those Christmas parties you’ll be going to! Make sure you check out the bags from LYDC .. they have a great range of day and night bags – and you can get 10% off using the code ‘SAIRA10’…. Have a peek here angels!! ♥

SAM_2910

WINTER RED LIPSTICKS ♥

Ohhhh… I think we ALL know red lips are probably the most festive things EVER! My ESSENTIALS have been Kate Moss by Rimmel in 01 (the most stunning deep red EVER!) – the quality of this lipstick is AMAZING, considering the cost of it! I could not recommend it ENOUGH loves! The next is Clinique’s lipstick in Cherry Pop, which was actually a gift in Glamour magazine – it is a definite favourite of mine! It is lighter and glossier than the Rimmel one, but just as beautiful! If you are after something more berry toned and natural (maybe for work/school).. the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in Everlasting Mauve IS PERFECT – they are a felt tip with a lip balm on the other end. This lip tint gives a very natural tint to the tips, but unfortunately doesn’t last as long as the lipsticks! I love it just for a nice, natural colour on the lips, but make sure I carry it in my bag to reapply! I couldn’t find these online – so it may  be best to have a look in Boots or Superdrug. The Revlon Colour Bursts are an EXCELLENT alternative! Also .. my Nivea Lip Butter just never EVER leaves my side … it is the BEST lip butter HANDS DOWN! ESPECIALLY THE VANILLA & MACADAMIA ONE

SAM_2903

Tartan Scarves ♥

Ahhhh WHERE would I be without this tartan scarf .. you have probably seen it in SO many of my fashions posts … It is definitely a massive essential for me … I think it would also make a FABULOUS Christmas gift .. I picked mine up in Primark but you can find similar ones HERE  from New Look! ♥SAM_2904

Lush Bath Bombs♥

So White Bath Bomb♥ – I have to thank Zoella (who I am sure you all know) for introducing me to this bath bomb – I would always just walk past it in Lush! I know ALL the bath bombs are SO FESTIVE and it is so HARD to pick my favourite – but I picked this as it was white and matched my theme for this post (HA!)… BUT also because it is such a LOVELY bath bomb. It may look boring but the scent is AMAZING (it smells like sweet apples!!) and it also leaves your bath a beautiful pink colour! Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Butter♥I am sure you all know the obsession I have with Soap and Glory products, and Sugar Crush is definitely one of my favourite scents from there too! I adore this body butter as it is SO moisturizing, doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, is affordable AND smells gorgeous. Also – you get SO much in the tub … so it will last you through the whole of the month (well.. probably longer … as I use SO much body butter!).

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz – this is SO good for making your skin feeling more awake during those dark mornings/evenings, and for giving your skin a quick refresh after sitting in an office with central heating all day! You can read a more in depth review of it HERE and also purchase it HERE

Guide to: Surviving Christmas Shopping!

Hey darlings♥♥!

Hope you have all had an excellent week… It is the weekend too woo! Now, I have seen so many people start to put Christmas posts up… come on guys it is mid-November now so I think it is acceptable! Now, I know many of you may be thinking about Christmas shopping (and some of you organised lot may have started!)… I thought I would give you all some tips on how you can make Christmas shopping a fun, (almost) stress-free day (or days!) out…. It should be enjoyable right?!

SAM_2313

  1. Make a list beforehand: I am the biggest fan of making lists, as they really help you stay organised.. and when it comes to Christmas shopping, they will be a saviour! It is also best to make a list of everyone you are buying gifts for, and what you plan on getting them. That way, you can make sure you do not leave anyone’s gift to the last minute! I think it is an excellent idea to have a “Christmas Diary”, that way you can plan what days you are doing Christmas shopping, and make any other lists/notes you may need .. rather than writing it on scrappy bits of paper/typing on your phone.
  2. Plan your trip: You should put aside a weekend/few days to get your shopping done, so you can get a lot done in one go. I think it is still fun to pop into town for some last minute bits closer to Christmas, but knowing that you have already done the majority of your shopping will make it even more fun! Also, if you work full-time (like me), it may be worth taking a few days off work so you can go during the week.. as I am sure everyone knows weekends are always busier!
  3. GO EARLY!!: I literally cannot stress this enough .. make sure you go early! Especially if you go during the week, the earlier you go the better. The shops will be lovely and organised, as well as it not being as busy! After you are all shopped out, you still have the rest of the day to relax/wrap presents!
  4. Make sure you go to a DECENT shopping centre: This is also so important. It is worth travelling out if there is not a good shopping centre near you, as it is good having a variety of shops to visit. This also saves you having to make multiple trips! I know this from first hand experience .. The main shopping centre near me is RUBBISH! I always go to either Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield for a good shopping trip.. there is SO much more variety, the shops are bigger, and there are also cute individual shops where can find something special!
  5. Go alone: This is vital for at least your main Christmas shop.. It means you can visit the shops YOU need to, take all the time YOU need, and not have to worry about what kids/friends/family want to do or where they want to go. If you do want to make a day of it with a friend/family member, you can travel together, shop for a few hours on your own, have lunch together, then do a few more hours alone, and then meet up after!
  6. Buy heavier/biggest items last/online: Now I think this is a no brainer, not just for Christmas shopping but also normal shopping trips. Buy your bigger/bulkier/heavier gifts last, so you are not battling with them on your way through the shops! Even better, buy them online, or reserve them so you are able to pick them up at a certain time! Christmas shopping is supposed to be FUN, not a sweaty work out! 😛
  7. Buy yourself a treat after!: After you have trawled round the shops for HOURS, carried so many bags that your arms feel like they are going to fall off, it is always nice to have a treat after! So my advice is to pick a little something up for yourself whilst shopping … you deserve it! Whether that is a candle (that you can burn whilst wrapping presents), some bath bombs/bubble bars, or some good old chocolate… go on… you know you want to!
  8. Remember.. ENJOY IT!: Enjoy the Christmas lights/decorations, the atmosphere, and the yummy Christmas treats everywhere! Try not to leave everything to the last minute, and make a day of it! So lovelies, be up nice and early, wear your comfiest shoes, make sure you have your Christmas gift guide all ready, play Christmas songs on the way to the shops .. and HAVE FUN CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
  9. If all else fails.. there is always online: If you do not like the thought of shopping at all (really?)… you can always shop online!

Happy Shopping!

So there we have it darlings … your guide to stress-free (hopefully!) Christmas shopping! I hope this will help lots of you ready to venture out to the shops to buy your presents! I will see you in my next post!

Lots of Love,

Saira xo
